You'd have to have a lot of duplicates to reach 2000.


On a side note, speaking of limits, they need to raise the credits one too...
 
Well i'm at about 1500 cars now and i'm about done with my car collection (don't think there are any i'm missing)

So about 500 spaces left. If PD releases DLC that fills all them spaces, at 6 quid for 15 cars means I would be more concerned about the empty space in my wallet rather than my GT garage
 
I'm only at about 951 cars, but I believe zeGermanBastorD with his car count. I have plenty of friends from gtplanet that are hardcore collectors like HOODFIELD, Igywana, and Ch1potle that have from 1400 - 1800+ cars easily. I would know I see their car count go up daily in their profile lol.

So removing the limit would definitely alleviate the problem for the above people I mentioned. I honestly see no reason for a limit on anything anyways. It would increase the save file size and that is really the only thing I could see happening.
 
There is no way they are adding 800+ cars in DLC. Remove the limit anyway!
 
Well due to the fact, that you can't remove the engine/ballast-stage updates I like to have 2 instances of all the cars I use: A stock and a full tuned version.
 
Got a little less than 800 cars (and about 20 of those I bought just to get a paint chip) so not an issue for me. They can easily add 1000 DLC cars :P
 
I think Kaz knows the limit, and I wouldn't expect him to put so many DLC cars in GT5, it would make more sense to save most of the cars for GT6. Even if he does add lots of DLC cars, it's nothing for me to worry about. I don't even have 100 cars yet. :dopey:

Several out of my collection has been bought just to retrieve the cool colored paint chip. Some are prize cars which I have no use for. If push comes to shove, I'll give them away to others, or just sell them off. No big deal to me.

Or you can create a 2nd account and trade back and forth between the two. I really don't see this as being an issue.
 
If you have more than 100 cars, I don't think the other 1900 are getting much love.
 
Non-issue. 2000 cars, really? Some people have too much time on their hands.
 
With simple maths the most extreme scenario.
Even if PD adds 20 cars "per month" for the next 3 years = 720 cars.
Can anyone see this happening? No chance at all.
 
With the new DLC..there is over 1400+ cars now, counting all the variations:drool: I'm missing 16 + the DLC coming up:)

Yes, there are a few issues going on here.
 
The solution is pretty simple: Go sell those ugly standard Skyline dupes! :)

Exactly. That's just a coding issue. That's why they release game patches. This won't be a problem at all. Much ado over nothing.
 
Honestly, having a 1000+ cars in your garage is just not needed. When i had that many in GT4 i found myself only using 15-20 of the 900+ i had.

Hello , i will keep it simple ,

pd and kaz added some cars now 15 cars as dlc and maybe 7 cars with spec 2.0 update

if you guys remember i think a gtp member uploaded a video that the maximum cars you can put in your garage is 2000 cars , i was thinking what if pd kept adding cars until it reach 2000 cars and everything goes wrong , i know its a very long shot but i cant forget about without telling you guys and see you got about this nightmare ( in my mind ) . :)

If they increase the number of cars until the max garage of 2000 isn't enough, I won't care at all...

Because that's like what, near 900 more cars than are in the game right now. I think the shear amount would outweigh not being able to have them all at once.

Think of the number of Skylines we could have!!! :dopey:

It might take you 3 years, but I can have a new account set up and running with the same amount of cars in it in less than a 1/2 hr. It's quite simple to do. Use a flash drive, copy all of your information over to your new account, sell off the cars you do not need, presto, instant free space on both accounts. Then you can add, trade, do whatever from either account. I know people who are running 2 and 3 accounts and doing this. So no, there are no issues in storage space.

In fact, soon here, I am going to start a 2nd account and use it simply for storage, 0/0/0 cars only, this will take time to transfer, but worth it.

I did it just so I could get the PSN trophy, I only use the 100 on my favourites, and probably about 25-35 others..

There are tons of unpaintable cars, race cars with different numbers/colors, cars you can't get a paint chip from (f.e. Ruf), the GT Academy cars in different colors, all X2010's,...

I am atm at around 1950 cars on my main account. Had already to sell some of my babies. :indiff:

The Maya calendar will end, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the earth. Maybe we'll get hit from an comet or the aliens coming back & grilling us with their lasers? :boggled:

Till GT6 it's a long time, so it's highly possible that we'll get a lot DLC cars till then. A new garage limit wouldn't be that bad, then the hardcore collectors wouldn't be at least forced to create multiple accounts to "outsource" our cars. :dopey:👍

A higher max car count would be nice , but it would just delay the inevitable.
Selling unnecessary cars / duplicates.

I've had 2000 cars for months now , sending 1 car every day to my 2nd account , just to get rid of the "unsellable" , collectible dublicates..
Storing those cars in the Delivery Truck on 2nd account.

So far I've sold ~500 cars from my main save / garage , just to make room for more cars.

I agree, started selling my duplicate standard trash and I already have 150 cars less than before.

and to fill, at the current price,
15 cars = $8 -> 900 cars = $480 :)
