Sorry for posting alot of threads on my pedals. Basically my DFGT pedals wont work at all... (and now that I think of it, a few weeks ago I spilt some tea on the pedals.. Could that be causing this?)

I dont really have the cash to buy the G25 and I cant find any DFGT pedals.

My questions are:
A) If I were to buy G25 pedals, how simple is it to mod it to work on a DFGT? I'm completely useless at DIY... I doubt I even have a screw driver in the house
B) Is the driving force Pro's pedals identical to the driving force GT's? And as such if I bought an entire DFP could I just chuck it away and fit the pedals to my DFGT with no problems at all?

Thanks in advance, hopefully this will be the last of my pedal issue. Been starved on GT5, WRC and F1 for nearly 2 weeks.. have had to reduce to assigning X/Square as the gas/break...

Have you checked the wire going from the pedals to the wheel? Made sure it was plugged in tightly to the wheel?

The pedals are very simple workings and its odd to get no action at all. It's either the wire is nicked or the plug is out or the steering wheel board itself, but probably not the pedals.

If you buy G25/G27 pedals you can take apart your DFGT pedals and use the existing wires to hook up into the G25/27 pedals. You won't be able to use the clutch, so you'll just remove it.

However, if your not getting pedals to work at all, it could be some tea residue has gotten onto the connections going to the pedals. So if the cables were bad and you tried to hook up to the g25/27 you might still be having the same problem.

You can use the cable from the g25/27 pedals, but you have to do some modifications to the wiring and punch two small holes into the female plug on the dfgt for the pedals (DFGT pedals use a 7-pin connector whereas the G25/27 uses a 9-pin.)

When I got my g25 pedals (took me about two months to find a set on ebay) I just used the DFGT pedals wiring.

You will need a screwdriver, allen wrech, & probably a pair of needle nose pliers.

Hey Ozzy, good luck with your pedals. I thought I would offer you some unsolicited advice. Sounds like you love Sim racing, start by picking up a small toolbox with all the popular screwdrivers, pliers. wire cutters, strippers etc .. probably find a cheap kit for $30.00 (£15) or so.

You found out the hard way, in Sim racing things break, sometimes often and sometimes hardly at all. You will get better fixing stuff with experience and of course many questions can get answered at sites like GTPlanet. My rig requires basic maintenance here and there and no big break downs yet. Just remember it's not "if it breaks down" but "when it breaks down"

Thanks guys. I opened my pedals up.
Findings:
- all the red/white wires on the gas pedal have been snapped
- Greece everywhere, some seriously sticky stuff
- whilst opening it, the pedals came loose and I can't fit them back in.

The style of the cut wires is extremely artificial, perfectly equal cuts along all 4 wires. Idk how its possible for it to naturally occur... I'm 100% sure my GF snapped em, bloody cow.

I can get a mate to fix the wires if its possible and ill clean the Greece but how do I fit the pedals back in.

Thanks everyone, and Left888 - I agree, I'm sure ill get the hang of it eventually. Been obsessed with sim racing for nearly 10 years now, and 8 of those have been with my beloved DFGT. It's been bullet proof, never even had the sticky break issue, so I'm clueless at fixing things.

P.s are the pedals even supposed to come off ?

Sorry bout that

Hope you'll sort out the pedals :)

I'm not sure this is any use, but I have a Microsoft wheel/pedals set you can have if you want. May be PC only & wheel no-where near as good as DFGT.

Thanks tumble, but no thanks - almost certain it wouldn't work.

And Jet, lol not my fault.. Iphone's auto correct.

If someone could tell me if the DFGT pedals are meant to come loose, or have I snapped them off...?

And if the driving force pro's pedals are identical to the DFGT's?
