First up, I'd like to congratulate Jordan on a wonderful job with GTP8.
Fast edit is awesome, as is quick reply, and the posts are easy to read.

Now to my suggestions (don't worry, they're not major).

1. Make the "My GTPlanet" link easier to see and click (put it above the yellow welcome box and make it a button, maybe?) <---- Default only

2. Can you say "square" :dopey: ? The quote/report/edit buttons could have rounded corners or something, as well as the GTPremium/Moderator/Super Mod etc labels.

3. Move the "Online!"/"Offline" indicators under our avatars when we post down a bit (I feel they're a bit too close to location etc)

4. The ads at the bottom of each thread. Shift the bottom advert in the post to beside the other ad.

Example:
Before:

After:

(Wow! Look how much more of the post above you can see! :D)

Also modify the ads (size? position?) that show up in posts so they don't create a massive gap between "Quote:" and the actual quoted text.

(I don't mind the ads, it's just that they're a bit intrusive into threads.)

5. Move the "last edited by so and so at whatever" writing to sit at the bottom of the post, but above the entire signature.
ie.

6. Make the frame containing the Imageshack uploader bigger:

That's all. Told you it was nothing major. :)

I definitely miss the location and the icon My GTPlanet used to have, too. It was the button I used to click on the most (and I still do, only it's not a button anymore :D), as it is a very handy way of checking if there are any new posts in the threads I have subscriptions of.

I would not mind either, if My GTPlanet (maybe along with Search Forums, Member List, Calendar, RSS, Help) was put back where it used to be, or somewhere closer to the beginning of the thread, so it is closer to where all the "action" is.

The Wizard.

Aw, now there's an ad in the thread list between stickies and regular threads... 👎

:|

(Resized ads at bottom of threads: good. :))

I have no idea about programing whatsoever, but here is sth I would like to have :

An option in MyGTPlanet for an autoreload / Autorefresh function of the thread you are in, as soon as a new reply is posted.

I see that this might not always be a good thing (convo forum etc), but I'd like to have the ability. Why ?

Examples :

"Guess the XY" : You always have to hit the refresh button in order to stay uptodate.

"Random question" : either a new thread or a question in a post : You read through the text/question/post, then you press the reply button and write sth, but somebody else was faster and replied, while I was reading.

This option should not work in the reply menu, because that would probably mean the loss of what you wrote before the refresh.

As I said before, I don't know if this would be difficult or if it would need server performance etc. If it is easy to realize, please think about it, if not then not :)

Thanks for the kind words, sharky, and my apologies for not getting to your thread sooner (a lot going on in my personal life).

I don't think you would be too happy with such a location. GTP6 was the only style that ever had those links in the center (in what I feel was an unusual location). I do agree they need to be more visible, and I put the text in bold face. I'm very happy with it, and you will probably agree.

2. Can you say "square" ? The quote/report/edit buttons could have rounded corners or something, as well as the GTPremium/Moderator/Super Mod etc labels.
Rounded buttons are beautiful and I love them too, but I decided to keep things as fast and stylistically simple as possible with these buttons.

5. Move the "last edited by so and so at whatever" writing to sit at the bottom of the post, but above the entire signature.
A pretty big oversight on my part - this has been fixed.

3. Move the "Online!"/"Offline" indicators under our avatars when we post down a bit (I feel they're a bit too close to location etc)
I see your point here, and added a few more pixels to the distance between the two fields.

Also modify the ads (size? position?) that show up in posts so they don't create a massive gap between "Quote:" and the actual quoted text.
Could you provide a link to an example of this occurance?

6. Make the frame containing the Imageshack uploader bigger:
Fixed. This only seems to have been an issue IE.

An excellent feature, certainly, but as far as I am aware that is not possible.

Ah, I see, this is only visible in IE. I'm having trouble coming up with a solution - if anyone would like to take a shot at it, I would appreciate the help. :)

Much better 👍

I love your avatar, by the way. And how!

Just two more things, Jordan.

Now it seems that there's not enough room between avatars/badges and the location.

And when you click "Add Buddy" below someones post it says: "No User specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

Sorry for jacking your thread, bs.

I might be the only one irritated by this but I don't like how you have no choice but to use PM conformation that the other user got your PM. Before it would have a popup asking to use this feature or not, I didn't use it before and it cluters up the PM menu area. Just a thought.

It's a great short film too. :D

In the PM additional options you can unclick the the read receipt request box. Your question seems contradictory, so if my answer isn't accurate, please ask again.

Can you put 'Last post' buttons when you're in the main forum overview please? They were in GTP6 (lite) and were very useful.

Please keep separate issues in their own thread. :)

I tried different locations during the design process, but I felt most comfortable with that distance.

I'm surprised nobody caught that sooner! Thanks, it's fixed.

I was just cutting down on images displayed on the front page - the latest thread title in each forum was (and still is) the exact same link you're referring to.

I find that in threads with heavy traffic (eg Convo), clicking that link the next morning I return to GTP I end up to 5 pages before the last post in the thread.

I feel the link would be better if it went to the last post in the thread, not newest (in the morning there can be up to 100, maybe more, new posts in one thread - so the link takes me to the first of such posts).

That's because goes to first unread post.

For some reason, occasionally I will end up subscribed to a thread I've posted in, even though I have "do not subscribe" selected in my profile.

It happened most recently today in donbenni's "awesome webgame" thread in the Rumble Strip.
