I've noticed that when i play an event and when i press start and then restart, it freezes the game very often and i have to turn the PS3 off. Can someone explain why could this happen and how can i fix it.

Any number of reasons, could be as simple as brief loss of internet or your neighbour downloading a movie...who knows, but it happens...

Well, i don't believe it's a corrupted file. I did everything like it said, i waited to download and etc. And i am the only one using my internet connection.

You asked for advice. My advice is re-install the update....was your GT6 ok before the update?? if so, then the update is to blame..

If it was me having that issue after the update, first thing i'd do is try installing it again.

Same thing happens by me....After 1.16.....Also; when watching replays, both the race I just did, or an old saved one for that sake, game freezes often, have to turn ps3 off on the ps itseelf, can`t use controller, it`s frozen too. After 1.16 yes.

Well freezing problems was/is a solid part of Gran Turismo since GT5, but THIS one that You just adressed here is new...

Mr Glenalz81 advice to reinstall, well I have no idea how to do that. I`m very incompetent with IT stuff.

I had a similar problem after 1.16. I removed 12 gig of data from my PS3 and transferred all my photos from the PS3 to a memory stick and deleted from the PS3 and haven't had any problems since.

Maybe i should try it. Just one more question: if i uninstall all the updates does that mean that i will lose all the VGT cars that were in them?

I started having major freezing issues when 1.16 came out. I'm still having freezes, but not as regularly.

It was acting as though things weren't loading properly. Like when I'd exit the track to the event menu, the menu would pop up, but the track in the background would take a while to load, and buildings and signs would pop up one piece at a time. I learned after a while that when it was behaving like this a freeze was just around the corner.

One time I was in the middle of practice for an upcoming race and as I drove around a tight corner, none of the track around the corner had loaded. I assumed it would pop up as I drove closer, but the further I went, the less stuff was visible, until it was my car and the background, and invisible walls everywhere where the track limits were meant to be lol. The ps3 didn't freeze that time while I was driving, but it was making some odd noises, like it was struggling to load, and then when I went to quit game back to xmb it froze. Every time it froze it would freeze up so bad the off button wouldn't work, so I'd have to unplug it.

GT6 has always had random slow loading where you think it's frozen and suddenly it loads, and also random freezes, especially online. But i'd never had so many problems so consistently before the 1.16 update.

Your game progress is safe in your SAVE DATA. Delete your gt6 GAME DATA, this will bring you back to basic gt6, when you load the game again the updates will download and re-install along with all the added content, be prepared for a long session of downloading the updates.

With the update that brought the community feature, not sure what number, i had freezing problems..as soon as i entered the community it would freeze and switching of the ps3 was the only option but after re-installing the update all was well.

REMEMBER DO NOT DELETE SAVE DATA!!! GAME DATA ONLY.

My PS3 became unstable after downloading 1.16. I deleted all data relating to games that I no longer played which liberated 12 gig of sace on the hard disc - for me that was enough to get the PS3 stable again. I hope the same applies to you because if you have to install updates again it can be a time consuming business.

I did this a while ago, because gt6 takes up quite a bit of space, and I dont play any other ps3 games. So i cleared everything else off it so I could download some old games (res evil and metal gear solid). I have all my music and video on my external.

👍 Good advice.

In my experience, and from what I've read, running any type of computer with a hard drive near capacity is going to increase the chances for problems of various types while running games or anything else.

I think a lot of problems that people report probably come from running, particularly older models of PS3, with a hard drive that's all filled up.
I've often wondered if that's why there's more problems right after an update too...
It's not the update itself necessarily, but the fact that many people's PS3 hard drives just got a little bit more full, and they were already pretty full before.

Photomodes also build up fast if you take a lot of them.
If you're having problems, it's worth it to take 20 minutes to look through your gallery and delete all those out of focus & uninteresting photomodes you have built up over the past year.

I'm also a firm believer that the PS3 works best when it's got one job at a time.
Use another device to listen to music while racing instead of custom BGM.

Also, clean the vents on the PS3. Take a look to see if there's dust build up. Then get some tweezers and carefully pull the tufts of dust out of there. Don't stick anything into the vents, just pull away the dust.

Another thing is, you should not have all sorts of cords and different electronic equipment all crammed together & up against each other.
This is bad.
First of all, all this stuff heats up, and you want all your equipment properly ventilated with breathing room around them.
And second, all this stuff, including power cords & such, is putting out electromagnetic signals... and you don't want one thing having the possibility of interfering with another. Give them all space.
