Gold the first 32 license tests (B, A, IB & IA) and then sell the 4 prize cars.
You will then have about 242,000 credits to play with.
What would be the best car to buy with the credits and why?
I would prefer you choose a car that is only obtainable from the dealers yard.
My choice would be a Tuscan Speed six for 80,780 and 100,000 + left over for upgrades or a Mercedes CLK55 for 93,110 and enough left over for upgrades.
Reasons would be to enter either the TVR Tuscan challange and win the Speed 12 or the Silver Arrow races and win the Mercedes CLK touring car.
What are your sugestions please?

umm stick to the 10k starter limit, its more fun that way. build car up as needed with game progression. i started my gt3 game with arcade mode 100% done. kept the panoz and nevr used it until more appriate races. started off with a trueno personally. blowing away the competition isnt exactly fun, anyone can do that :)

Z32 I am currently starting for the 4th time.
In regard to your comments I have allready been there and done it.
I am trying for something different. Point taken about blowing away the A1. I do not have to spend all the money.
Do you have any suggestions for the original question?

Go for the Tuscan, and keep it bone stock for as long as possible, right down to the tires. A much more rewarding drive than the CLK.

Dodge Viper. Keep it stock for the Trial Mountain and other stock only races. Then, after you finish them, soup it to nuts and enter it in the Like The Wind race for an easy victory. It's OK to cheat here because this race is super boring, and running a full stockViper on the Test Track is a lot of fun. Plus, you'll be surprised how fast it is.

18,000 starter limit, actually.

Are you saying that anyone can gold the first four licences? Have you tried it?

I havent bought a car yet.
Last night spent golding the Rally License. So another 80,000 credits for spending money when I sell the Imprezza Rally car.
R6 is a pain in the butt. R8 seems to easy by comparison.
I like the idea of the Viper in the PD cup, may have to use T2 tires, brings back memories from using this car from GT1 in the standard car races. Why havent I used this car much in GT3?

...why buy a car then???? you have the Impreza? Use it to do the European Championship, just win 4 races and save the game, exit race #5, you'll still win the championship +$$ and a Bonus car...(restart the game and exit the 5th race till you get the Gillet Vertigo...worth 300.000cr)then save game, and...use the Vertigo to do the Super Speed Way Endurance (an hour of easy boring oval)and you'll win an awsome car ....(one of four possibilities) 👍
...wait a minute  this is your 4th time around?? so you already know this :ouch: ...anyways.......

integra-R :)

but in general any car can bring you enjoyment. go with the vitz!!!!

yes famine. been playing gt series all my life, well since may 98. my first ps2 was the gt3 racing pack :) and i even have the gt2 bugged sim disc with the free fixed version sony sent out for those who called it in. i consider myself "retired" with gt3 tho. im way past my prime, but still take stock cars (not nascar, but bone stock) out every once in a while in amatuer races to keep the feeling alive 👍

GT4 is gonna rock my socks :sly:
edit: changes n stuff

yes famine. been playing gt series all my life.

That makes you 9 years old - and quite a precocious baby once too.

I used the Acura Intergra to good effect in my second game. So that one is out.
Still thinking Alpha. The Accord type R may be an option for the Type R races and also the FWD championships. Does it have enough grunt for the Professional FWD races?
Yes the Imprezza is a good starter car but yes I have already used it in one of my previous games.
What options are there for a Rally car that can be bought from the dealer, thinking a road car with rally tires. There is a Liberty wagon that may be fun if it can take rally rubber.

Rrrrrrrrrrright.

You're just not seeing the fundamentally flaw in saying you have "ibeen playing gt series all my life", when the series is only 9 years old and, in order for it to be true, you'd have been popped out of the womb with a DS1 in hand.

I've been playing the GT series all of its life... I suspect that's what you meant?

Unky H - the fully tuned Mini has enough grunt for the Pro FF - by a lap a race. The Alfa Romeo 2.5 and Accord Euro-R should be fine. The Accord also gives you access to the Type-R Championships.

relax... can't use exaggeration anymore these days? oftly friendly arent ya.

i agree on the accord, try the daihatsu mira for ****s n giggles. its good on kei class too

my suggestion would be the Teggy. FF, Type-R, and American Cups can be won with the Teggy, although the American I would suggest using your Viper, although you already know this :).

..buying an FF car?.....try the Mitsu-FTO 👍 ...add more hp 👍 ..or even the New Beetle...with more hp....?? ... 👍 ....... ...but with all the previous experience you have, you should know all the answers already..... :ouch:

I think you are missing what I am trying to do.

I want to use cars that people dont usually pick to buy first off or dont even think to use at all.

There are lots of cars that get forgotten about because they may not be the fastest or most popular.
How many times do you hear about the big Acura FWD two door being used? Not that often as I cant recall its name.

I still have S6 and S8 to Gold before I start any races.

Don't sell all the prize cars. Do enough to get your S-Licence too, not necessarily all gold (you can come back for that later on.) Keep the RX-8 and use some of your cash to put Super-slicks on it. Then go off and win Polophony Digital Cup in it.
You'll have around half-a-mil to play with at the end of that, and a pretty nice prize car too. If you win the Escudo, sell it immediately!!! (you'll win another for the rally races all gold)

Alternatively take the MX-5 LS barebones stock (no oil change and normal tyres) and win Roadster enduro. You may win a lucrative F1 out of that.

I'm with Famine on the FF front, take a fully modded Mini to FF Pro races.
(I know, its not a dealer car though, buy the Mira, minimally modifiy it and win the Mini for the Lightweight K-series.)

:dopey: Well, in that case, why not use the Daihatsu Mira Avanzato? 11,140cr and enough credits leftover for... extras... 👍

Day 48 in my new game sees me with 47 gold licenses, I am going for that last gold at S8.
I could buy the Mini from my other 100% complete game (94% win ratio) and use that for a large number of events. I want a 100% win ratio this time around so I wont be ending events early and going for all prize cars.
I found S6 easier this time than I remember from my past two gold passes. I guess I must be learning a bit more throttle control.
The Viper still sounds like the best bet so far for starter car, however I can still be changed into say a Lotus Esprite or something else.
