A good idea for Arcade Mode (PD should consider)

PD should really consider changing this in GT-5. I'm very surprised to see that in Arcade Mode there is a VERY limited number of Arcade Only vehicles provided by PD to use. This is very odd in that most racing titles that utilize an arcade mode give you access to the games fleet.

I'm not saying PD should give access to the entire 1000+ cars..., but at the very least ALL of the Premium Vehicles should be open to use in the Arcade Mode. It only makes sense in that you don't win anything for doing arcade races. You don't get to keep the car. You don't get to upgrade the vehicles either. You just get the choice of tire selection prior to the race.

Opening up the Premiums for Arcade Mode will also make it much easier for future purchases. As it is.., you're purchasing Premium Vehicles blindly in this game without the ability to test drive. Come on PD.., let us give a "virtual tire kick" to these vehicles before we drop some major credits on them

I never realy play on arcade mode but I agree that's a great idea, I could try before I buy. Hope your listening PD

Add that instead...? I would like that better, don't know anyone who ever use arcade mode.

They should also implement a Classic/race/tuned/wrc/historic/etc facility as well like they do with the A-B-C

Example tried to do a race with a 167 bhp classic Alfa and got lined up against cars such 500+ bhp GTR`S and WRC`s my old classic never stood a chance not on the straights or bends

I would like to race a classic against other classics in the game , just as I would like to race my WRC against other WRC cars not race cars etc

They have put classics in the game but there are no races for them? such a shame.

PS I use Arcade mode a lot or use to not so much now the PP system is in place its messed up now, example above.

For PD to open up all of the Premiums for Arcade Mode benefits EVERYONE who has this game. It's a great move for those of us who do use Arcade Mode.., and it adds a MUCH NEEDED feature of "Drive Before You Buy" to all of us 👍

It would be awesome if you could break down arcade races in GT-5 the way it's done in forza-3. Forza-3 lets you go into menus and set up every aspect of a race that allows you to completely customize your race.

The major downside to Forza-3 though is that Microsoft (the money grubbin goons that they are) had their say in F3's custom races. Microsoft used the custom race set up in F3 to sell Gold Memberships. You have to have a Live Gold Membership to set up custom races against the AI in F3 :scared:

How about the arcade mode from GT4, thats is perfect. (you know, all dealers, garage feature)

That, so then you get cars in arcade mode as you get cars in GT Life, plus being able to show cars from one particular class, for example:
Classics only, or LMP and GT only

Good idea. I have been disappointed a few times by cars that I spent a lot of money on because I didn't get to test drive them first.

A-spec could learn a few things from Arcade mode, like variable difficulty, and generating opponents based on the car you pick to play with. Arcade delivers where A-spec fails, completely underrated since day one.

Good idea!! I hope PD is working on Arcade mode a lot. They have mentioned adding TT leaderboards, so hopefully the reason it's taking so long is because they're doing a thorough revamp.

Would be nice to earn credits/exp in arcade mode too, scaled by difficulty level. :) Why not, really?

I'm at the point to where I'm considering shelving this game. Regardless as to what some here may think..., there are those of us who ENJOY arcade modes and simply ENJOY the race..., and are not always focused on credits earned and leveling up.

Arcade Mode (even though some of you fail to accept this) is what keeps Arcade Mode players coming back to a game. For us.., if a titles Arcade Mode is utter crap (such as the one found in GT-5).., then REPLAY value for us is down the crapper.

I've purchased every premium vehicle I want already. Completed a good portion of the game, and have absolutely NO desire to play the freakin waiting game for sub-par Standard Vehicles to (hopefully) show up when I want them.

This game IMO is just an excellent example of when a developer throws a "Hail Mary Pass".., but forgets to check if someone is on the other end to catch it.

The developer put so much into QUANTITY over QUALITY in this title. The mess with the PP system and problems with AI selections is obviously due to the CRAZY number of vehicles in this game. If PD focused more on several hundred PREMIUM vehicles from the start (rather than a pathetic 200 or so Premiums and 800+ crap-shoots on wheels) it would be easier to balance out the PP system. There are TOO many damn vehicles in this game.., and PD can't devote the time it takes to over 1000 vehicles to get it right.

Think about it.., do some of you honestly think that considering how large this game is in size that PD truely and accurately represented the performance of the lot..?? If PD really did it by the numbers.., this title would be on several discs...

If I'm to return to this title.., PD has to FIX the Arcade Mode. The game does have some great features.., but just because some of you don't use the Arcade Mode doesn't mean that those of us who do should be ignored. Why put it in the game if you're not going to do it right?

Edit: Actually let me retract that statement of placing this game on the (not really played often shelf). I'll continue to play this title for the B-Spec Remote Races to help out those of you on my friends list in obtaining the credits needed for the vehicles you want. Other than that.., this game currently lacks replay value for me as repeating the A Spec is just boring.., and Arcade needs patching.

good idea!!

all cars should be available to user
user should be allowed to choose number of opponents
user should be allowed to choose opposing vehicles
user should be allowed to choose starting position (and throw in a "random" too!)

👍 I agree completely. I love those features of arcade mode. I use arcade mode a lot to test cars and damage and whatnot. Also, when I'm playing with family or friends. The only thing I don't like is that favorites are limited to 100 cars. I have many cars I want to use in Arcade mode. Honestly, I just want my entire garage to show up.

Just to point out something here that I noticed some time ago about Arcade Mode. It makes me wonder if PD already knew of the issue.., which is possibly why they have only given a "small selecltion of hand picked" Arcade Only vehicles.

If you stick to the vehicles they hand picked.., I've found it seems more balanced. That's why I think it would make MUCH more sense to open up the ENTIRE Premium selection for Arcade. This way you're running vehicles that are not upgraded (keep in mind there are already good race cars in the Premiums too).., and if the new tire system is patched correctly you can select ANY type of tire and not have to worry about getting jacked in a race where you're running an Evo against a Ferrari.
