Just though i'd try something slightly different. I've never seen anything like this banner anywhere...

It took more than 14 layers - since i merged layers in many places - and i did it all in Photoshop. I payed a lot of attention to detail here (like i always try to.. :)). So that's about it...

Comments, questions, tips? (I'd sure like tips... ;))

Okay, I've been wondering for a while now; what the hell is m_nus?

Other than that, very original and well, impressive. How many filters did you use? ;)

I would remove the white shape and let the blue strokes poke out with shadows. I would also remove the bullet points and shunt the text over to the left. - Just my constructive criticism no offense inttended.

Anyway I like! - I like very much! 👍!

I've seen many creations from you GC but this one just doesn't fit my fancy. Ones in the past blow this one away in my opinion. But hey, you're trying somethign new.

M_nus is just Minus minus the i. It's a username on another forum...

And, i probably used quite a few filters. Creating all the stuff in the left... :p

Well that's what i first had in mind, but it didn't work out as well as i had hoped when i went to save the image as a GIF... :irked:

Use .png c00n, try saving it as a .png and uploading it if you can.

PNG's don't allow transparency... ;)

Are you calling me a racoon? :odd:

Um, PNG does support transparency. I think it supports animation too, but I'm not to sure on that one.

There's a spcial png animation one as well.

PNG - Portable Network Graphics
MNG - Multiple-image Network Graphics

You may want to look here for more information : http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/

Interesting. Maybe Jordan should let us upload MNG files too.

I don't think so, because browsers still don't fully support the formats that well. Just like .svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) - Flash but made from xml coding, and it's backed by Adobe not Macromedia.

Why not just upload them to Here , and hotlink them. Just name you'r pic somthing like "Item8373XDJDx7" or somthing.

Jordan won't let us upload PNG or the like because of this single reason:

Bandwidth

Um, Jordan has allowed PNGs. The image below is even a PNG!

Silly rjensen11, he thinks he knows everything :) - Shannon see if you can get alpha transperancy to work. - Make a thread in the test forum and we can test.

So what does a PNG do?

Shannon, though it says PNGs are allowed, you cant upload them. Thats just how VB works. You gotta do some special thing to get it to work. And I dont remember anymore, I havent ran a VB for a year now.

Boo ya!

So, to further kill my thread (:)), you're saying PNGs give a better transparency? But how do you make PNGs support that in Photoshop?

File > Save for Web. Pick PNG 24 (PNG 8 sucks) and check the Transparency option. :)

png makes for really good transparents. When I use my 3-d programs I save either .png or .eps.

Sweet indeed. Thanks Shannon!

Actually, users of PNG's prefer the meaning to be referred as a recursive acronym.

PNG = PNG Not Gif ;)

and yes, PNG does support animation.

On and yes, I like it very much for an abstract symbol, doesn't really mean anything (to me) but it does look cool.

Good job man!

It didn't seem to work, Shannon...
