A new banner - Blue v.1

In Macromedia's Fireworks, you have to select the alpha channel that is to be transparent, unless of couse you have pre-defined the background as transparent.
 
Erm...using Photoshop, Pako.
 
So basically PNGs with transparencies aren't creatable in Photoshop...?

It took more than 14 layers - since i merged layers in many places - and i did it all in Photoshop. I payed a lot of attention to detail here (like i always try to.. :)). So that's about it...

Comments, questions, tips? (I'd sure like tips... ;))

I was actually hoping that some of the terminology would apply to PS for you..., guess not.
 
People, when I talk about allowing PNGs, Im reffering to allowing them as an avatar. You cant upload them as an avatar. Ive already uploaded a few PNGs in this very forum, but not as an av. VB is wierd about it somehow.

So, think you can? Try.
 
Well Shannon - since it's obviously worked for you - what am i doing wrong?

It did work. The problem is Internet Explorer. PNG's don't display properly in Internet Explorer. The transparency of a PNG is replaced by a grey background in IE. It looks fine in Firebird.

Aww hell, so whenever someone sees the banner and is using IE, they see grey? Screw that... :(

IE is still a little behind the times, and are afraid of adopting a new standard.

Sheesh...., whimps I tell ya.
 
Alrighty. Well, anyway, i found a way to sneek past GIFs crap-tacularness. At least for the most part.
