I'd also like more options to set up the Drivers Eye View, especially getting rid of the wheel & hands animation, which is 100% useless if you already own a wheel & have hands!

:)

That's one of the things that really bothers me about using Cockpit view... I can see my own hands and wheel out of my peripheral vision and now I'm also seeing the animated wheel and hands. It's too much.

If you're endurance racing, it helps alot to see the gauges clearly especially when you don't want the HUD on. Pressing start and going back and forth to turn the menu on and off to check the gas/ tires level is redundant. I never really liked having the HUD on during multiplayer because its very cluttered. The only thing about having the HUD on during a race is too see how much of your tires you have left.
I agree, but I don't feel like I need to read the exact numbers on my dials, just where on the dial is enough to get a good idea of how much fuel you have left. I go by the engine sound to figure out my rpm after all, not reading the numbers on the dial. I don't have time to be looking at those when i'm going at several hundred kilometers an hour :p.

Standard view all the time except for one of the new LMPs - the Toyota I think - then I adjust to narrow otherwise my turning in is truly horrendous. I remember doing the 4hour Nurb event in GT5 in the Citroen GT race car in cockpit view - now that one really was hardcore!!!!

Edit - in reference to being able to see the gauges - its a shame that the LMPs do not have a working visible fuel guage. I like taking the GT6 hud away and do the 24mins races for even more immersion.

I've settled on 'Narrow' for cockpit view after using 'Standard' until a couple months ago. Standard felt like I was sitting too far back in the cockpit. As far as comparing cockpit to 'bumper', that's a whole different story. I go back and forth between the two frequently and can't decide which I prefer. It seems easier to use bumper cam because the entire road is visible, but the sense of speed is greater (which isn't a bad thing necessarily). My feeling is, if you have a wheel and can get used to cockpit view and drive well and win, you can easily drive in any of the other views anywhere.
