A question on cornering.

I use driving line so it helps with knowing when to slow down. If you are using to much throttle the car will drift towards the outside of the corner. So I would try and push the car till it want to drift toward the outside and play with the throttle to keep a good driving line while keeping it on the edge.

as someone already noted, exit is more important than entry. you can block a competitor on entry but not so easily on exit.

also eyes. look ahead 2-3 corners at all times (the basic rally technique) many circuit drivers will get away with focusing on only 1-2 corners at a time.

As Jackie Stewart once said, don't put your foot on the accelarator coming out of a corner until you know you don't have to take it off.

Don't feather the accelarator

Unless your name is Senna who used to blip his throttle through every corner.

I used to blip the throttle until I got better at the game and now I brake as hard and late as possible to hit the apex and then get the power on as early as possible without spinning out or running wide and having to get off the gas.

Also...

When steering through fast sweeping corners, you should make minute adjustments. For slower corners, you may have to throw the wheel left and right (or stick if you're on a DS3) quickly.

From The Art of Racing in the Rain- Slow corners = fast hands. Fast corners = slow hands.

I like this theory alot. Havent heard it before but it makes alot of sense 👍

You can block on entry, but that is where I catch most people offguard, and duck right in there, and when they are hangin on the outside, you can slow down enough to make a perfect exit and leave them in the dust, that is if they are bright enough to not dice with you, then you HAVE TO block on exit

Out, in, out is the recipe. Break at the same point, no matter how fast u are, this gives u a feeling for the break point. Be in the right gear BEFORE cornering, and also try not to brake in the corner, which is the goal of an ideal line. The apex is the point in the corner u want to touch, but there is no rule when to accelerate, every corner is different. It took me years until i could hit every corner right in every situation. Started with GT1, wich is an advantage for me i guess...
