It's the car. It's gotta be the car.

Ok got my 1st clean save using the wheel ...

21.1 / 38.7 / 57.1
16.1 / 33.5 / 51.9
16.1 / 33.5 / 51.8

took a lot of runs to get 3 together :irked:

Good luck everyone:tup:

Changed my car, got a clean save with T2's of

If those are your T2's and you are happy with your race... Then I am much happier with my race than I was before or I am on the wrong track:lol:

On the other hand...

If those are your T3s, then I have aparently ordered up some of the infamous moose kak on which I should learn to...

How did Max put it? Suck? Yeah, that's it... "then I suck moose kak"

Which of course would mean that Mr. P is running an entirely different race which looks like it started about an hour before the one I am currently running:lol:

phattboy:D

Damn! you know what I mean....:D
T3 sorry :D it's just I only look at the T1 and T3 and never notice T2... So T3 is T2 to me :p

And that's a lot of T's :D

Besides, I long ago reserved the right to be a dork!:D

The Swiss Chocolate version no doubt:D

Time very very early submitted

58.2; 53.7 and 52.9 T3's

See you next week :)

I ran some more laps to try and keep GT3mich at bay :D

It's not working:p ... I did get a tiny improvement but nothing special

57.0 ..... had some 56.8's
51.7
51.8

This is a tough race to keep clean and consistant especially the section after T3 :irked:

I'm ready to finish with this round ..

Good luck All 👍

I'm just tryin' to be helpful:lol:  If he would get his T-3 times back up in the say 53.x range, I'm reasonably sure the difficulty in the section following would diminish considerably... problem solved;)

It's a win-win thing... IE: It would solve some of my problem as well:p

I've seen some 56.7's and couple 51.6's too. That last complex can just kill a good lap if you go just even a little wide. :irked:

HELP! I'm way way way of pace here. :banghead:

I really need a problem area analysis on this one. Adopt me, help me, save me, phattboy. Please.

I got major problem in the following areas:
Second turn.
Turn right after wooden bridge.

Can't keep momentum and I don't have a plan, so everything here comes down to coincidence.

Maybe a look at Mr P's TT8 will help you to get them bends right ;)

did everyone take note of this very helpful hint?? what this fast racer is saying is that you have to stay tight in the last sector.

Easier "Said" than "Done!" :irked:
:D Whether I "Slow" enough to "Stay Tight" or keep my momentum & "Go Wide" the results are the same..."Crappy" Lap Times!!! :irked: :irked: :irked: ...UB57 :D

@Niels

Assuming you are serious and in the spirit of inter-team rivalry... Let me know and I could PM you a narrative of how I get to a 38.high/33.mid t-2 and hope it helps... I'm not sure how appropriate it would be to post it here as it is kind of long... If he says okay... I'll post it here for the benefit of anyone who might be struggling with that first section.

Bear in mind, I don't want to be perceived as presumptuous here. I have found "A" path to T-2 that matches Mr. P and GT3mich time however, I'm not quite where they are at T-3 (although I'm working on it).:D

Premise of my response:

First of all, I'm assuming you are serious and the Trak Fodder Foundation leaves nobody on the wayside:D

Second, although I am not quite to the T-3 times of the Mr. Ps and GT3mich's in this race, I have found a path to T-2 that is as quick as what appears to be posted here. That being said, take what I am saying in the following narrative for what it is worth in the spirit it is offered.

Narrative to MY T-2:

Three things you have to bear in mind.

1) Brakes are a killer on this track! Normally, I drive either automatic trans or manual trans depending on the track... To get to a 33.mid T-2 at Swiss Alps, I have tried both ways and have come to the conclusion that with an automatic trans you may get to a pretty quick T-2 with loads of practice, you are ultimately "shooting yourself in the foot". I think this track needs to be driven in manual transmission because there are only two braking points (maybe only one) running manual. If you run automatic, braking points are all over and around the track.

2) As with most rally, if the butt of my car is swinging and swaying... I'm losing the race.

3) At Swiss Alps, I have found that for me, setting up the transmission with higher gears and a level of "short-shifting" is helpful to both of the above. In the cars I have tried here at Swiss Alps, all of them performed better for me kind of "lugging" them around the track. Check the torque ranges on the car you are running and try setting up the transmission so you can run the track comfortably and so that when you are shifting/driving you "optimize" that torque band.

That being said:

Running the Corolla...

Off the start line, short shift to second, then third and I am in fourth gear torque area before apexing the first slight left. I am in fifth gear before the apex of the following slight right. I set the apex of that slight right such that I end up at the outside of the track by the second "hump" (just before the hard right on to the first back straight).

Edit: Flying start on the second/third lap is the same as above except I'm in fifth gear by the start line or shortly thereafter.

Just before my car reaches the peak of that "hump" I start my turn into the first hard right. (I make that a gentle turn because when the car "unloads" the suspension, it will "drift" the back naturally out for you. It doesn't require much help. With a little practice, I was able to stay full throttle in fifth gear (no lift) and apex the inside of that hard right just inside the weeds and end up back on the outside of the track for the straight and "jump".

T-1 target time is 16.1 or 16.2 and that is essential to reach the T-2 of 33.mid. By the way, I'm still in fifth gear all the way through here and down that straight.

Edit: Obviously the T-1 target listed above is for second/third lap or for "Free-Run" time. First lap in the race needs to be around 21.low. The subsequent lap 1 T-2 will reflect this and although I don't remember exactly, I think that time needs to be a 38.high if you want to be in the race at the end.

Just after the crowd of 2 dimensional spectators on your left and just before the red/white guardrail (maybe midway between those two points), I "twitch" the steering right and back center setting up a very very slight butt end drift and then (still prior to the red/white guard rail), back to full right until the butt end of the car begins to take over the turn to the inside apex. At which point, steering is back center. Quick, full-throttle shift down to fourth prior to the apex of the right hander. Ride the slight drift back out to the apex of the following sweep left and assist the attitude change of the car to make the left apex.

It is full throttle all the way through here to the end of the bridge. That means: Full throttle all the way from the start line.

Over the bridge, (left to center enter the bridge, right side exit) still in fourth. Exit the bridge, (ignore the T-2 time... don't even look... time for that later) off the gas long enough to "bump" the brakes, turn hard left, quick downshift to third and back on full gas to apex that first "corkscrew" turn partway into the weeds and such that you exit pointed at the apex of the second "corkscrew" turn.

Finish the lap (which should now be smokin') and go back to watch the replay to see your mid33 T-2 and smile at your bad self.

And that's a lot of T's :D

Did everyone notice this helpful hint? NEVER NOTICE T-2!

When I first saw this, I thought "Doh!" That is why I keep blowing the "Corkscrew"... (Read that: Concentration loss)

Followed her advice/lead and "POOF" nearly a second off my lap and a whole bunch of consistency added.
