I've been having a good bit of trouble coming up with a desktop that I like and matches my theme. I've been searching high and low for the past few days to no avail, so, help me out people! My resolution is 1400x1050 but 1280x1024 looks fine when stretched out some. Help!

My Theme.

Thats a good one, but it makes my icon text hard to read.

If you have Windows XP, right click My computer and go to properties. hit the advanced tab. than see these shots. this will put a backdrop behind your text.

Might I suggest, if you're the least bit graphically-inclined, trying to make your own? I've stuck to doing that for the past 8 months, and it works reasonably well. You don't even have to make your own entirely; find something that works well, and modify it to suit your setup. Of course, if you're ever going to repost it somewhere (say, DevArt), you may want to give the original creator credit. Sometimes, a custom wallpaper can suit your theme far more than anything you'll find online, and you'll feel good knowing it came from you.

However, if that's not the case, I'll echo the recommendation of DevArt, and add www.4imp.de . Not a lot there, but those guys (and gal) are talented, so it's all good, and they even have some other themes if you want. It's worth noting all their stuff is on DA as well, though.

off topic: What operating system is that? Doesnt look like Windows.
As stated by Teggy-R its an OS-X windows theme. It can be found here. You will need to download styleXP from http://www.tgtsoft.com, its $20 for the program and it is definately worth it. I've had it for a year or so and I love it. ThemeXP has 1800+ themes and tons of other skinning related stuff and everything is free.

But I hate those ugly boxes around my icon text,.

As for my desktop - I think for now I will be using the first one posted by Skip. Although feel free to keep posting more desktops that go with it. And if you have a theme that needs a wallpaper, post it here and someone is bound to find one that'll suit your needs/tastes. As for me, I like abstract art, so I was drawn to Skip's over the rest. Thanks guys.

Oh, and there are also some cool desktops on http://www.3ddesktops.co.uk. Thats where I got the background for my website from.

I'm having the same troubles. Below is my current desktop, and I'm using 1024x768. I've been having trouble finding Desktops, so could anyone help?

Cheers.

What do you prefer the most? What category?Since that is a standard XP theme most wallpapers would fit. So,do you like cars, nature, etc?

Cars, anything that looks cool, 3D, etc. I've been trying to find a good San Andreas wallpaper, but there's nothing good.

Hmm, I picked a couple, but they don't seem to suit, and they aren't overly my style anyhow. Thanks for that though. 👍

Thanks, I'm using the Red Porsche 911 GT2 at the moment, although I'd still like to see anything else on offer.

Thanks a bunch, GTChamp2003.
