I bought a Ferrari F430 from the New Car Dealership, (already have the Scuderia and love it). I took the 430 over to GT Auto to "rim it up" and guess what? NO DICE! Cannot swap the rims out on this car  Wish I had known this beforehand, lal.

Some cars are best left the way they are anyway, Ferraris, McLarens, Lamborghinis, even Mercedes. Leave the aftermarket rims and hideous spoilers to the Skylines and cars like that.

I found it so curious that there is no custom available on a premium "stock" car, I wonder why? And yes, it is still a fun car to drive.

I disagee. The DTM Mercedes and ALMS Ferraris look very nice. They all can look good if done right.

I don't even change the ... Oh wait on only have one skyline, and I got it from a gift card... Never mind then...

Anyway. Them Ferrari cars should be left as they are. Good thing The Enzo has a own brand wing.

Clearly these aftermarket wheels and the hideous wing are just for show.

I could find an example of any of the other cars you mentioned if you'd like. If you want a less racey example look at the McLaren F1 LM.

thats what i was wanting to replicate, the Risi shop is about 10 mins from where I am right now so i have a bit of a rooting interest in them.

It's the same with the Jaguar XJ13, I was kind of disappointed.

You're giving examples of cars built to look that way, specifically for racing in proffesional motorsports and road legal versions were made, I'm talking about sticking an out of place looking spoiler on a beautiful car. I'll also add they're ugly compared to the stock models.

I can find non-factory built track cars if you'd like?
It's one thing to prefer the look of a OEM car, but it's quite another to dismiss "spoilers and rims" as something only for japanese tuner cars, as actual purpose built wings/splitters and lightweight wheels made for the track serve a very real purpose and depending on your outlook can make a car look even better.
Personally, I much prefer go over show, knowing that the wing on the car makes it faster on the track makes the car more beautiful to me. I'm about to get wheels for my car, not because I think they're particularly nice looking, but because they're only 15 lbs.

Pretty much same with any standard car, you are able to attach a stupidily huge wing and no other aero parts to atall.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari barred it just because they hate not having control. As much as I love the cars, I would never own one just based on their business practices, and how they treat their customers.

no aero either, was hoping to get as close as i could to the Risi Competizione F430's.

This is probably due to the fact that F430 Competizione ferrari's are a whole other kind of F430 that was left from the game for entirely unknown reasons. Include lame Scuderia and Stock, but no Competizione?

With almost any "high end" Ferrari (Enzo, FXX, etc), you're bound by a ridiculous set of rules that state where and when you can drive it (in the case of the FXX) and to even OWN the thing, you have to have owned an F40 and F50 in the past (in the case of the Enzo), as well as many other little things.

Not to mention, they don't police their (very rare) dealerships very well, and there are some out there that will refuse to sell you medium-end Ferraris unless you've bought from that dealership before, so you end up having to buy a lower end Ferrari just to be able to buy an F430. 👎

Hit up Ferrarichat.com and take a look into the history of some dealerships, it's unreal.

It's only the FXX & the 599XX that comes with those set of rules.

As far as establishing a relationship with a dealership, well that's just the price you have to pay for exclusivity. You gotta pay to play.

EDIT - BTW, there are other ways to buy a Ferrari without knowing someone in the dealership...Though, you will probably end up paying more.

EDIT 2 - As someone who works with pro athletes who owns Ferraris, none of them have any complaints about going through what Ferrari requires...

Unreal, it is a wonder they don't have lawsuits up to you know what for that.

No, not really. The cars is their property, they have every right to choose who they sell the cars to. They can simply refuse to sell one to you just based on the way you dress and there's nothing you can do about it.

Not even going to debate this here, but if you're saying that pro athletes and people with status get more leeway than normal people, you're a little behind the times.

Oh, and the Enzo had those restrictions when it was new.

The idea of being told what you can and can't do with your car after you buy it is the bad part.

Lol, not in the US you can't. Try that and you will most likely have a lawsuit on your hands. I'm not even sure they can't sell you a car because they don't feel like it(legally).

I was pretty sure that I bought a Ferrari, forgot which it was. But it has no RM, but it can get a spoiler and other parts attached, it looks pretty good with and without. I opted to go without used it for one race and never drove it again. Not all the cars can have things changed on them, who knows why. Possibly PD didn't get to include those parts, hopefully they can add more. I haven't bought a single rim or painted a single car yet. I'm on level 30 and haven't done a great many things.

aww thats lame

sometimes i just wanna say
WTF GT5 YOUR A VIDEO GAME ACT LIKE ONE !! lol

sometimes i think gt5 is way too serious and strict
