A slight problem with online that needs addressing

I have experienced being in a room where the host didn't know that he's in charge.

When they were in free-run round the track, an original host quits and the leadership moved to someone else, and he didn't even know about that... so the free-run lasts forever...

I think PD should include something in the next update is that when someone doing free-run becomes a leader, a clear, noticeable message should pop up to the new leader on his screen to let him know that he's host.

What do you think?

I think it's a great idea. I have came across the same problem. Also I will add they need to be able to change the room name once the host has migrated. I don't think that's an option as I always see rooms with the name 500hp running at 1000+.
 
This is why I use PP limit. I'm not sure if it works well though...

Last night I set PP limit at 630, and can't roll out my 787B which is a good thing.
 
Doesn't a message pop up on the chat window, which does pop up during free run when a message has been added to it?

Yeah but it's not very noticeable isn't it? Some people are very unorganised, and probably stupid so PD need to come up with something to prevent this problem.

But others in the room can take responsibility here. I normally type something along the lines of 'Hey...guy running round the track...you are now hosting mate'.

Happened to me a lot last night, I was in a great competitive room with 16 players all using modded street cars and EVERY race at the last second 1 a-hole would join with a Super GT or RM car and ruin it.

The second race I pulled off an epic drive from last place after being knocked to last place in the sand from the start to SECOND because the leader (in a Super GT) was 30 seconds ahead.

I blame the host too, but whatever....
 
One thing that needs fixing is watching shuffle races every time one of these races end I get kicked back to the GT Life menu for no reason :grumpy:
 
Yeh the ballast and power limiter option make It so any car can be tuned to fit to the limits perfectly. I now set the weight option to 780 kg to stop X1s getting in as with maximum ballast an x1 is 765 kg. But it catches a lot of people out.

That got annoying as there was a long gap between races waiting for everyone to join back. Needs to be fixed but not the most important thing
 
another small thing...

i think it would be nice to be directed back to the open lobby listing instead of gtlife when you exit a lobby..
 
This is solved quite easily with some simple communication (as stated above) if the new host isn't paying attention. If PD had to address every issue created by stupid people, they would never have released GT5 in the first place.

What if the host doesn't speak English?

An Italian became a new host and I told him that he's host. He didn't do anything... Obviously, he didn't understand English.
