Have 2 separate options for sending cars, gift or trade. Gifting works as it has with no limits. Trading requires the other party to send back either a particular car or a car within x amount of the car you send. If enough people are on board with me, I could send a suggestion to PD.

Better yet, why couldn't they do live trade in the first place (i.e. both sides prepare and show what's there to trade and as they both accept, it goes through). But the whole point was that it wasn't for the scummers but to cut cloning cars short...

Peoples' schedules don't always line up, especially with a worldwide forum such as this. The main point is to be able to separate these functions, some people just send "expensive" cars expecting nothing in return such as an online series host sending a prize car.

I'm thinking update 1.08 will put it back to the way it was. Just my two cents.
Well, just think of how many gazillion threads like these there will be on the internet. I hope PD will do like they did when they took their ideas for 1.06 and see that the community does not wants that.

It only partially kills duping but it pretty much completely kills trading now, since all the cars that were worth trading, like LMPs and similar can't be traded anymore.

Well I'd be happy if they change the UCD so that all cars would be available at all times. Theres no way I'm going to wait months, hoping and praying that the car I'm after just happens to pop in the UCD

Japan people are pretty smart. I think they are smart enough to know that we will still abuse the gifting system if it were changed to be like that.

From the US gran turismo website " Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system" this was added to prevent people from making a trade offer, recieving a car, and not sending one in return. It doesn't mention duplicating. As far as I'm concerned on that issue, you paid real money to get the game, you should be able to play it any way you want to. That is just my opinion, I do not want to get into an argument with anyone about this.

I think some people are over-estimating the number of upset 'traders' - they're a minority, albeit a vocal one.

Its not going to fly. I doubt PD will make that option available. Its ironic because the car I sent yesterday, an X2010 Prototype, was a gift for a friend who requested it and I can't say no to her. :sly:

Give us a trading block... the host can pick if its a trading room u request to trade with someone in a room your in... shows up with slots u put cars in the slots to trade so u can do anything 2 for 1 trades or things like that then each person clicks accept and then confirm and it would get rid of duping (kinda) and there would be less scams and its faster

Lending i think is actually better. You dont own the car i know but you can still use someone elses cars. Most of the cars i got through trades i havent even used yet. I doubt anyone else has either

I guess the tickets will be the most valuable trading items going forward. Level 21 and 24, 1000 Ticket, and the Birthday tickets. These are the only way I see being able to get cars worth more than a mill.
Pretty much requires a second account. Get the same ticket in both accounts. Use the ticket in the main account, if you get a car you want, just send the ticket from the second account and dupe it back in to the second account.
If you don't get the car you want, go back and reload your last save data, and try again.
I guess the people with the birthday tickets will make a few new friends )

Not a total solution, but better than nothing

I tell you in what this ends:

everyone creating now tons of BD accounts & gifting the BD tickets to their accounts till they have got what is now not tradeable.

Let's see how the PD servers can handle this.

I sure hope not. :)

Do you have every car in the game then?

It will take days of solid gameplay that will kill most people's "old model" PS3s just to get the money to buy one or two 10mil+ cars.

My PS3 was strained at doing the 24hour b-spec race... it was really not wanting to be left on for a day.

They're fixing the WRONG problems... there are plenty of massive problems in this game, gifting is a tiny tiny tiny problem compared to saving during endurance races, texture rendering problems, exp/money amount problems and tuning (which they only just solved with the 1.05).

I guess they thought of that too. Only one trade per SYSTEM not account. It makes me question, did they really need to put the 1 mil cap after this change?

Looks like they are going after duplicators too. There really are more important things they can be working on...

True that. I finished all the races except the endurance races as I don't have time to do them. You know the sad thing is that if they only did some small changes like put more races and change that stupid revolving UCD, people wouldn't need to dupe.

Could a mod change mey vote to "yes"? I clicked the wrong thing :banghead:

lol

I've never liked how trades go down. It is 100% honor system in a world full of cheaters. This method of trading has got to have the least amount of thought put into it out of the whole game and needs a complete overhaul.

Needs: A trade screen. Party A, choose your car. Party B, choose your car. Click, trade complete. Voila!

But no, that would take one employee 5 seconds to implement, therefore costing another 83.54 cents in development.

Seriously though, I wanted to trade some of the LMPs.

That and the sheer difficulty of even getting enough money in a decent amount of time makes it insane.

It's not a "trading" system. It's a "gifting" system. As such it works perfectly fine.

I totally agree!

Indeed. The trade cap makes it nearly impossible to churn out large amounts of cars, but doesn't penalize "honest" traders, while the gift limit hurts everyone.

Another case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater... as what happened when they removed restrictions completely from the Seasonals... then locked "SRF" on, to boot.

Very strange... but I see the 1.07 restrictions as being temporary, while they figure out a way to lock cars to accounts or overhaul the gifting system into a full-on trading system.
