a spec beginner race question

so i am trying to find a car that would qualify for the lightweight race...cant seem to find anything available...how/when can i get one of those cars?

off topic what cars are considered premium and how do you know when you are buying one or not?

ok let me rephrase...is the only way to get a premium through a dealership...all premiums are new?

Not entirely true... Premiums are all cars in the New Car Dealership (NCD)... Standards are pretty much the bulk of what get cycled through the Online Car Dealer (OCD) and Used Car Dealership (UCD)... Though sometimes some premiums cycle through...

Won cars are both Standard and Premium depending on the events.... These come in as "new cars" aka 0/0/0 (0 switches/0 miles (or km)/0 wins)... Used cars almost always have mileage... Online Car dealership has no mileage (at least for now) and news have no mileage)

Also there are a few Premiums that CANNOT be purchased at the New Car Dealership (NCD) and must be traded or won in certain events... Im not going to explain in exact detail as it would make it seem more confusing than it really is

I havent really noticed them ever doing that myself (premium cars in OCD and UCD) but I didnt want to say that they dont... who knows though... they could but even if they did they would have mileage.... (unless OCD but that probably wouldnt be too smart for PD... lol)

Only the Veyron comes in at 0/0 in the UCD, and premiums 100% don't cycle through.

As previously stated the Veyron always will be 0/0/0. I have been through about 3100 game days and never saw a premium in the UCD or OCD leading me to assume that it doesn't appear there.

I wasnt 100% sure so I threw that out... I have cycled the UCD tons of times and I usually just buy what doesnt have the check on it... So I am wrong on the UCD and premiums... lol

And the Veyron I have seen with miles (although it was like 100km) and without... and there has been another 1 or 2 cars that have been 0/0

You can copy down the requirement and cycle through the ucd, online dealer, car dealership, car prize list to look for what matches.
U missed out on last OCD which had European classic cars. Now u just have to cycle ucd or wait for new OCD in 2 weeks.

Yes.

I use myGranTurismo.net to help keep track of cars and it helped with questions like you have. If you click this link, Click Here, it gives you a list of cars good for this championship. Those that are in yellow writing are Premiums (in the Dealerships) like the Copen Active Top.

I'd use one of two given your level:
Buy the Suzuki Cappuccino (any of them) from the Suzuki dealership (new).
Or, if you got a Silver on the B Licence, you've won OFC-1 Concept '07. That's free!

Check out the specifics for the event or your competitors, they list them for you. Match their cars or power, or check out the regulations. That same site as well as the search function here (not to mention the stickies at the top of the Q&A board and the regular GT board) are great resources. If you get stuck, then feel free to ask... but most of the race series are self explainatory. 👍

I won a Dome Zero and turbo'd it to win the Japanese classics. As for the Euro classics, I found a used E-Type Jag, so aced that.
