whats the best car for this job?

The first three races are easy. The third one is farmable. I make around 1.3M off of it in my tuned up/down Spoon CR-Z.

The second two, funnily enough, I can't win. I'm probably just not that great of a driver, but the best I can do is be 3 or 4 seconds behind first.

I have a civic that's pretty damn light and still has a lot of HP, but I think it comes down to knowing the track well and having a superb tuning. you can pretty much do every crazy tune to an FF to get it to oversteer and it'll probably do nothing but help you in the corners.

Let me know if you get a winning tune, though, I hate having 3/5 stars.

i've done it all with a integra type r dc2. didn't reduse its weight, only added horses :D

+1 ...brilliant car and the sound with one of those titanium pipes is just something else.

But that was the second time around. When I initially did the challenge I had to just take anything in the UCD. Ultimately I chose the Honda Prelude ...very very good car that.

For the tune for both cars I took away brake force from the front and gave it some positive toe. I then also gave the rear a little positive toe and about .8 of camber. The front got a little more camber. I then reduced the ride height some and stiffened things up a bit. For extra steering and stability I made the rear stabiliser stiffer because I did not want to fit any aero. All that results in a easy to drive car that just grips and grips. Forward traction is good and corner exit is epic. Play around with those settings ...i reckon FF cars are among the most obedient in the game. I prefer mine with slight understeer rather than oversteer. You might miss some apexes thanks to the front positive toe (if you come in hot) but you almost always hit the late apex with great exit speed.

Here's a few starter tips for A-Spec:

1)Check the "Entry Requirments" to find out Tires, PP, and sometimes which country a car must be from to compete.

2)Check the "Typical Opponent(s)" area for cars you're most likely to compete against. This will give you a rough idea how high the performance points will need to be to stay competitive.

3)Ultimately, you'll need to pick a car which generally fits your driving style and either tune it with someone elses tune or come up with your own. Unless you're Richard Petty you'll need a good tune.

A stock DC5 Integra Type R (premium) does the job brilliantly.

Agreed, you can just keep tuning it down until you're just winning at the end of lap 5 for some big payouts (best on capering because the AI hates the loop)

My friend just found that the Spoon Integra has an excellent power/weight ratio for farming Cape Ring, way better than my CR-Z. I just found this Mazda 323F '93 is pretty damn good, too.

I don't know if either will win the latter races that I mentioned, that I can't win, but they're excellent vehicles.

They do absolutely hate the Ring don't they? It's ridiculous almost. I'm 20 mph faster than them at times on the loop itself. No braking on entry needed with 375-400 pp cars. Ignore the inside racing line too. I'm quicker about halfway up the track. Less tire squeal and the accompanying loss of mph when I stay in the middle, and I can pas the inevitable AI car either high or low from there.
