Isuzu 117 Coupe, 425pp Comfort Soft.

My tune works quite nicely on CS tyres - the snap exit oversteer I haven't managed to tune out is more progressive than with Sports. Easy (around 1 second)win over a pair of Alpine A110s, despite being PITTed by Lotus Europa on lap 3.

Bluebird 510, 400pp CS (no ABS).

A nice drive this again, though I had the gears too long and I discovered I'd got no ABS on the first corner . Combination of nursing the braking and the wrong gearing left me 3 secs behind Signor Guidi in his Stratos.

Loving Comfort Softs on thi challenge.

@Racin510s, do you know what a fairly realistic racing power outputs would be for the Datsun?

When I was racing ITC in the SCCA a 510 had about 110-118 HP. This was because of the limitations for the class. In GT3 where you could really do engine work like flowing the head, multiple Weber DCEO side draft carbs and more we were getting closer to 200 HP. My street '69 4 door made 187 HP at the flywheel and put almost 147 HP to the rear wheels. I have seen many different Nissan engines used along with turbocharging and getting 200 HP at the flywheel. Stock it had 95 HP from a 96 cu. in. engine. All of the horsepower is in the cylinder head. So if you can find a good machine shop that has a flow bench that is the best place to start. If you want to know more send me a PM and I'll gladly share my knowledge.

Edit: The HP rating in the game is not realistic. Mine in the game has 240 HP. it would most likely cost what it does in the game to get a street 510 to 240 HP and you would have to use nitrous if sticking with a Nissan engine. I have seen a few with the V6 from a 300 ZX. Mine used all Datsun/Nissan engines and cylinder heads. The cams, pistons, rods and ignition were all aftermarket parts. I even had some bits from NISMO, namely the cam. I'll try mine in this race and see what happens because it only has 434 PP.

used the AC Cobra which is a bit overpowered for this track but even so, this isnt too much fun and the track is way too long for the cash

406pp 1200 Beetle SH, win by half a car length over sig. Guidi.

Thanks, great info there. It's really just curiosity for the game. For my own amusement I'm making some classic race/track cars with what I believe should be fairly realistic specs.

I'm no realism nerd, though and I'm not averse to building overpowered AI killers .

I ran the last of these in the early AM this morning. I used every car I had that was below the '79 year model. I was able to win with cars in the mid 400 PP range. I really learned this track and for me that was the bonus aside from the credits. I made around 2 million credits from this race. I hate to see it go, I just hope the next ones are this much fun.

Just won this in an almost stock Lancia Stratos. I only changed the oil, improved body rigidity and added the 4 additional headlights. Everything else is stock, including the CS tires. 417 pp and a close win over an Alpine A110.
