Well I know 200 is the high end 1 is the low end,but if you have the same car with the same hp weight tires everything identical whats the a spec points?100 maybe where's the middle?

Some of the missions are 250 points, and at the end of some enduros that I win, I don't get any points. (what's up with that?)

This seems to proove that A spec points are not based on Power to weight figures as originally concluded and a preset value is the base.

This is also apparent when entering low powered low weight cars or a high powered high weight cars with equal power to weight ratios. The high power cars will allways get less A spec points against the same field.

Yes, that's all correct.

AFAICT, each car has a "base" value value stored on disk. This base value is modified depending on modifications you make to your car. What, if any interactions different modifications have (e.g. does the effect of better tires change the effect of adding power) is still to be determined.

I did some testing to see if a Rally version Subaru WRX got less points than the road version. (In my mind the rally car should get less as it is the better car)
The Rally car had downforce set to min, normal sport tires and 305 hp. Weight was added to make the power to weight ratio equal.
The road car was stock apart from the wing which was set to match the rally car. Power was 315 hp and equal power to weight ratio with the rally car.
Both cars were entered into the same race against identical fields.
The road car had 1 lower A spec points than the road car.
Interesting I thought, and concluded that the extra 10 hp had a negative bearing on the A spec points.
So I went further and added a stage 1 turbo to the road car and added extra weight to bring the power to weight ratio to the same numbers as before. (I have noted results but left them at home). Entered same race against same field and was offered less A spec points. Tested again with semi race exhaust and more weight to bring the power to weight equal again.
The A spec points dropped again.

Power and weight does enter the formula but what the base line formula is we will never know.
We know equal cars and equal field will be 60 points. (I got 57 or 58 in the little British Triumph race)
It may be interesting to repeat my WRX experiment with the Audis in the Audi race and see if the pattern repeats.
Any input is welcome.
I may test also a liberty and see how that compares against my WRX.

Good job on the somewhat-scientifical test!

See.THIS,my friends,is how a thread should be resurrected. 👍
