I just wanted to say to anyone who "dupes" (i.e. makes a fake account to send a main account cars, tickets, gears, etc.) that you really have to watch what you're pushing. Today I had 10,000,000, 340 cars, and was trying to get a 787B from a 1991 ticket. (I wasn't buying it) Unlucky me never got it, and I deleted the save on the PS3 and the flash drive on accident. I'm just giving a warning to anyone who does duplicate things, as you have to watch what you're pushing so you don't mess up.

BTW I'm not asking for a handout I just really wanted to say this. You don't have to send anything if you don't want to.

I have three backups: memory card, seperate account and the mac. I worked too hard to loose all my gameplay.

With the triple payout seasonals, it's pretty dumb to not buy a car that you can easily earn the money back on.

Add me on PSN I'll put up my Tuned Italia or Enzo for you to use to grind Sarthe. 👍

I would lock at a total game save loss as a challenge to rebuild, and relive the game.

I sort of did this a few months back, as I have two GT5 saves going (my GT-exclusive login, and my normal PS3 one). The normal is a bit lacking, but during some paint duping, I had accidentally wiped it. Luckily had a backup from about two or three weeks earlier on my PC, so the grand loss was mostly unique (at the time) paint chips of about 100 or so.

If you're going to duplicate, I would assume you would keep at least one copy of a backup for reasons just like this.

Not sure whether I'd call it dumb, but in certain cases, it might actually be harder, or more time-consuming rather, to try and get something from a ticket that you can just earn and buy. Luckily, with premiums you have that choice. It'll take you around 40 minutes at the moment to earn the money to buy the 787B, so how long then do you expect to keep opening that ticket till one pops up? Or rather, how long would you be prepared to do so? And you still don't have a guarantee.

On the other hand, for standards, using tickets is often the more sensible option in trying to get that car you want.

Nervous to share this info for fear of flamage but here goes.

I have 1 main account an 3 alt accounts that sign into PSN. All 4 accounts have a Playstation user account named after them with BU at the end. I use the 3 alts for tickets/duping. I always keep a backup of my most current game data for each account.

i would be like that too, but the one thing i would hate would to have to do the licence test again, to so long to get all gold. i dont think i could stand the torture of the slalom again.

Eh, I'm a firm believer in letting people play the game how they want. Some of us like the grind, some of us want the quicker access to the cars we actually want to drive, thus adding to replayability based on a slightly different metric. As long as people are enjoying the game (and aren't negatively impacting others), I don't see a problem.

And for me, it was a matter of trying to get all the paints in the game, since this whole chip business is frankly nothing more than a way to artificially extend play time :p

Ugh, that would be my fear - redoing the licenses. I did all golds on both accounts within a few weeks of release (the GTP_ account, within 24 hours), but very few were enjoyable. The AMG Academy tests, on the other hand... I wouldn't mind another go. At least to those who have lost their saves, it's much easier to bounce back compared to the first few weeks with the game. Locked saves, poor payouts - other than the trade limit (which only seriously affects a few dozen cars), it's not hard to bounce back to mid-20's very quickly.

How did you manage to do that?

Accidentally hit "Delete" and not "Copy" when I went to the save on my drive.

I wanted the money to buy some of the remaining premiums like SUPER GT's and WRC's.

Just saying it's not like I wanted the super-easy way it's just I don't know how anyone would have the patience to get 20,000,000 is all. I mean getting half that last night was a stretch for me.

To be fair, you could have got the 4-5,000,000 (for the Mazda) on the seasonal events without even trying, grinding a ticket is what people did before the money flowed like water. Getting 20,000,000 is actually very easy when you consider that just 1 race now earns 500,000 and takes less than 4 minutes. Heck, you can earn 2,000,000 by doing the stupidly easy drift trials in the seasonal events, and that takes a couple of minutes.

I only dupe myself now when sending a car to somebody else, took me a long time to collect every unique model and my game save always get's backed up onto PS+ beforehand.

You mean the patience to get it all again, after you lost it all? It doesn't really take all that long anymore to get to $20 Million, if you really cared you could do it in well under 4 hours. I, personally, don't have that patience. Money comes with time. It actually took quite a while to collect up the $110 Million I've got sitting in the bank. ;)

Hey it's quite easy to get to 20 million from scratch, as long as you are willing to put in the time. You can spam the la Sarthe Ferrari race for half a million for 3 and a half minutes of corner cutting. Think about it, do that race 10 times and you have 5 million in a bit over 40 minutes. If you do it straight, I use my 5 race break method. Race 5 times continuously then check the UCD for rare cars, change oil then race again. Helps break the monotony and sometimes I switch between the 599 and Enzo.

Honestly never worry about premiums as they are always available for purchase, it's the standards that you have to keep an eye out for some of them are quite elusive just to your starting point in the game...Speed 12 still eludes me as does the R92CP. Keep hope alive :), sorry to hear about the miscalculation with the delete copy function.

I keep a backup on my USD HD with max credits as a precaution and I update it anytime I get a pretty rare car. In case my game save corrupts, I won't have to suffer being without money, who knows when PD might take away our earning boosters. That stuff should stay permanent it makes tuning enjoyable as when it completely mess up a rare car I don't have to cry about having to make that money again with those cheap old sub 100g credit races.

This happened to me back when PD first unlocked the gamesave, and i eff'ed it up big time. lost like 250 cars... Good luck getting them all back, i still haven't.

If you used an USB-Flash-Drive there is software for recovering deleted data. As long as it is just deleted, it can mostly be restored! Just google it, I did used this method for some USB-drives.

It could bring everything back!

Can you explain how you got 110 million sitting in your bank.

As shepzki has said. While there really seems to be no limit to how much a B-Spec driver can collect up, due to the hard limit of your offline bank account each of your six drivers is effectively limited to $20M, which means the effective maximum that can be banked in one account is $140M.

I backed mine up on my pc in case I did something this stupid

I do the same, i have various saves 👍

Pretty easy but personally im little tired of race 20 times in the sames races everyday 👍

B-Spec drivers, AFAIK there is no limit on the amount they can earn.

I am fully aware of what bob can have in there banks [ I have several milion in 6 bobs banks]but the OP suggested he has 110 million sat in his bank not his and bobs. :)

As for that, yeah, I do too. I've got a save game history for all our accounts on our RAID1 NAS.

And I absolutely hear you, I find it much easier to just leave my PS3 on and remote race. Sure, it's not as green, and sure, it takes a lot longer to collect up the same amount of money, but it allows me to not have to grind.

i only dupe with my sub acount.
and made a backup on my pc.

if i dupe with my main acount i just make to backups on flash and pc.

Umm, it was just a short way of saying "offline + bobs", the rest is really implicit. ;)

One that I use is Recuva (Windows) - as long you don't add anything else to the flash drive after deleting, there's a strong chance you can get it back. As for recovering the same files from your PS3 HDD, I don't know. If you're confident of taking them out and hooking them up to your PC, in theory you could run the same recovery software to get it back. In theory - I've not tried this so... :scared:

This stuff also works for memory cards from phones/digi cameras etc - I have this fun little game where I buy used cards off eBay sometimes.... :sly:
