A world map of GTP members?

I was thinking that it would be quite a nice feature to have if there was a world map somewhere on GTP illustrating the geographical locations of its active members.

So, for instance, a member could add his/her location to the map once 100 or 150 posts are reached. That way the diversity of GTP would be apparent for all to see.

I don't know. Use it, dont use it.
 
Funny you should bring that up...I've planned on adding a Guestmap to GTP6 for a while now. :)

Jordan I think that would be a great idea. Mike good pointing that out and putting a thread on a guest map :D I put my vote in for this :D
 
Over at GTF the owner asked that people use a real location when registering. Mine says "south of Boston" because if others are in the general area, it'd be great to meet up with them.

Also GTF members tend to host regular Get together parties and meet new people. Meet some great people by doing that.

If you're nervous or hesitant to (or simply don't want to) put an exact location on, the Map or at least a state is a great idea.

Yeah, great feature. Also, some people choose not to put their locations under their avatars so they could put them on there instead. Good suggestion. :)

Very cool! I like it but I'm not sure if I like it as much as Bravenet's service.
 
That looks great...but I think I'll leave it to Bravenet to handle making the map! :p
 
Is the map currently in process or have I totally lost my sanity and can't for the life of me find this so-called map of members for GTP. . . I truly think I am losing it, is it even being made???
 
It's just not available yet, I suppose I could go ahead and create one on Bravenet...

no, I wasn't inferring to make you do it or anything or push you into something you didn't want to do. . . If it is in the process for a newer version of GTP then the wait is well worth it. :D
 
I think it would be great. It would let you know if there were any other GT3 / 4 players around that might be interested in linking up. There seem to be very few of us in the States, but those of us who do play absoultely love it.
 
That would shatter my illusions of everyone. Meh, they weren't good illusions anyway...👍

I'm pretty sure that a worldmap where you could point out your location would be possible to make in javascript and php coding, however, it would take up a crapload of space and alot of tedious work if it ever broke (if I'm thinking correctly).
 
That maps a cool idea, I never got myself listed onm Famines map (I don't know why cos I've seen it before), not sure that I'd meet up with people though, I don't make a habbit of that and I don't have much free time when other people have free time but it'd be nice to know who lives nearby just incase.
