Gran turismo sport came a year ago and it has been updated consistently throughout its one year. What are the things that are improved for you and what should be improved and introduced in the future to make it better

Why another thread...? There's an anniversary update wish list already, as well as multiple threads detailing all the changes from updates.

Could be a loooooong list, so to short it down, here only improvements need to do from my point of view:

- better penalty system (what was shown in Salzburg makes hope)
- daily races become daily again
- daily race intervalls raise to once an hour but longer distance, so that the matchmaking will be worse playing. Rather play one 30-40 min race in an even field then making 3 races each 10min and in a 1xA+,2xA,1xB,2xC and 10xD -field.
- no disconnection in FIA races
- more payout in sport mode
- a feeling of actually achieving something when doing GT League. A championchip format or so. But I guesss its to late.
- qualifying mode in lobbys
- stable lobbys

After sounding critical, here positiv points even not answering exactly op's question:
- Sport Mode a major improvement to former only offline formats
- FIA races and point system
- I'm fine with tracks, as long as Twin Ring Motegi doesn't come
- Very fine with cars, all my favorites are available
- Graphics
- Soundtrack
- Custom races system

I'll start out by saying that nothing is perfect but IMHO Sport Mode is absolutely fantastic, it's just brilliant for a time poor person such as myself, i'd be lucky to get one good race an hour in lobbies but in sport i can easily do 3 B races. I am also a big fan of the ability to download liveris from other users, really adds to the game.

Finally, I am in agreement that tuning should remain banned in the SPORT races, if they introduce it i would think a 4th race would make sense or simply do away with Race A which appears unloved in any case.

As for improvements, i'll try to be sensible given budget concerns etc etc;

  1. A couple of tracks conducive to good racing would be great, namely Road America, Oulten Park, Hockenheim, Road Atlanta, Snetterton etc
  2. Using racing soft as the default in Race A and B, the cars are too understerry on Hards
  3. Offering tyre options in Race C
  4. If 2 above is not possible then maybe just allow us to play with the diff in race B and C, and the diff only, to assist with braking and turn in
  5. I'd like the onus to again be on the car behind not to hit the car in front, the current penalty system allows too much bumping
  6. Being really greedy i'd like it if we could get a little more "Project Cars" feel in the game, you know run some Caterhams, Group 5 (like proper 80's group 5), BMW M1's ... just nasty stuff or staff with a different feel than modern GT cars and road cars. TBH i would happily see all the vision cars and the low spec road cars dropped in favour of older race cars or dedicated track cars

What I think should be improved is the capacity of players in an online server. 16 seems like too little

Otherwise, I love the game and can’t get enough of it

I love the game too, but please no.

The Sports mode races are already way to many players in the field. Most races are just a wreck festival with cars bumping each other off the track like every corner.

Id rather smaller fields. Where I am matched closer with people at my own rating for some serius and close racing rather than a big field with drivers of a big skill gap where eveyone is bumping each other.

Overall they should focus on removing bugs and other not so good design choices.
  • Get rid of the bug, where people loose their entire garage of cars.
  • Get rid of the bug. where people get booted from the daily race before the race start.
  • Remove the low fuel warning from the mid of the screen when racing.
  • Make the pedal inputs linear.
After that they can work on improving.
  • Make credit / XP earnings more even across all modes. Sports, Lobby, Time trial. Give more credits for these modes. Give less credits for racing dumb AI on ovals.
  • Penalty system. Its not easy but there must be ways to make the algorithm more acurate.
  • Improving the AI. Its hopeless as it is now.

In my opinion we dont need a lot more features. We just need them to improve and remove bugs of what is already in the game.

I agree. But you can always adjust the amount of players per server.

That also brings me to another point: if a lobby is full, there should be an option to wait in a que, and it will automatically join when a spot opens up. Instead of tapping refresh :D

Giving some of the cars a rework, like the 911 GT3 RS, Vulcan and Veyron. It's quite jarring that the newly-added, older 911 GT3s in the game have better handling compared to the newer GT3 RS which handles more like a traditional 911  the Vulcan, of course, should have a lot of downforce, and the Veyron could use higher maximum values for its springs.

Ghosting should be improved.

I was watching Tigdney level up his other account and in lower levels there is much more ghosting.

This should be extended to all levels, I don’t know why I’m supposed to tolerate 270km/h missiles and dive bombers because I’m SR S. Makes absolutely no sense.

The way sport races work can be improved a lot.

Turn it into a permanent lobby system instead of reloading the races all the time. When you sign up for the race, immediately load the track and let you qualify or practice right up until the race starts. Matchmaking simply needs to swap players around once the timer is up, then start the race 30 seconds later. (Or a bit longer depending on how fast it can load cars and liveries in the background)

Make it the same way lobbies work with the only difference that the server moves people around at set intervals and starts the race. Shuffle race mode, shuffling people instead of cars. After the race you stay in the lobby to talk or qualify until the next race starts. The participants simply get moved around when the matchmaking timer is up. All you need to see is a bunch of people leaving and entering the room. No need to close the room and reload the track.

PD can add a not ready button if you simply want to practice / qualify for a while. The server can then move you to a room with similar people that are just there to qualify / practice and you could drive together on the track. (ghosting the other cars when you get near not to interfere with qualifying times) Optional of course, should always be able to turn the other cars off.

Add more incentives to drive clean. Payout bonus for higher SR levels. Add a bonus for contact free races next to the clean race bonus. Contact free is never touched another car. Clean race is never went off road.

Add a 4th race on Sport mode that enables tuning. I just finished my practice laps on the Gr4 sport race with the GTR. My god how I wish I could adjust that lsd and slaughter. I can see why they don't allow tuning. Would be too big sn advantage for people with tuning knowledge such as myself:lol:

- better penalty system (what was shown in Salzburg makes hope)

The penalties in Salzburg FIA events was with real FIA staff, the investigated each action on a replay and then gived the penalty..

So that system i think will rest exclusively for precencial Oficial events..

That is basically impossible to implement to the commercial game...

But sure the game needs improvement in the penalty system, more sport events, issues and bug fixes from normal online that are still there since launch, improvment in Tyre model, better damage system, better collision physics, UDP implementation, HUD personalization, proper VOF settings, AI improvements, rainy weather ...

Why should people be given less credits for racing on "dumb ovals"? As far as I know you are not forced to race on "dumb ovals", once you finish the campaign it is entirely optional, in fact you do not need to complete all campaign races either. There are a great deal of people who love racing on "dumb ovals", in fact there are games where the only option are "dumb oval" tracks. As far as the AI if you go to custom races it is pretty easy to set up races where you can not win, how much harder should it be??

The damn search function for searching created content, namely liveries.

Having to scroll by each day per page is a little too tedious; "little" may be too gentle of a word to describe it. If someone made that livery months ago that you wanted but somehow forgot to add to your collection, you have about 100+ button presses to do in hopes of even finding it, with each page taking two to five seconds to load as it's dependent on the game's servers, and if you scroll too fast, then the searching will freeze and cease due to some glitch that occurs.

For one of the hallmark features of the game, finding specific liveries can end up being a tedious adventure that can sometimes pay off if you keep flipping through the seemingly endless pages. An actual search function can reduce this time needed by minutes. Otherwise, you'd better hope that livery you saw but never added makes it to either the Cool Sections, Trending, or All Time tabs, or you may never find it again...
