Not sure about europe but the Toyota Corolla SR5, in North America, is the AE86. I think the AE88 is the GTS thats what it says in the VIN if I'm not mistaken.

That's correct, although both cars are an AE86 chassis.

Indeed - hence the "in Europe" qualifier. You should further note that the Impreza 2.5RS never reached European shores in any form.

Likewise to U.S. with the 22B, I'll bet. Unless you guys got only the regular STi Version V.

LOL this is the most idiotic thing i've heard. I did buy it new. Mistake of my life lol. How is it a mistake? Tell that to the thousands of others who bought the car new.

$18000 for a Civic EX.

$18000 for a 2000 Volvo S70 T5 with better than average miles.

On your Civic, you've got a sunroof, ABS, alloys, keyless entry.

On the S70, you have double the Civic's horsepower, front side airbags, traction control, leather upholstery, heated seats, power memory front seats, a CD changer, headlight washers, dual-zone automatic climate control, ... a sunroof, ABS, alloys, and keyless entry. Not to mention the significant improvements in acceleration that come with the power, handling that come with the new price, comfort from the suspension and seating, and interior and cargo room. Hell, the only upside to the Civic is fuel economy.

I don't even care how much it depreciates. Remember: There's ALWAYS a better used buy.

I find that an odd statement, as the last time I was at the service dept. at the local Nissan dealer, my car was repeatedly referred to as S14, both on parts, on the computer systems, and on literature regarding the cars serviced.

I don't buy it, but I'm more likely to buy it in Southern California, the Bay Area, and the Seattle Area.

its a COROLLA! ...seriously...dont buy one..get a 240, it'll cost you less in the long run. if you do get one stateside, make sure its an AE88, unless you dont care for the 16v twincam, or rear disk brakes and possibly a factory lsd (factory option)

of course you can always convert the 4AC to a 4AGE just need new fuel tank, brake lines, rear end (disk to disk) or you can just drop the 4AG and get some nice dual weber carbs

Exactly how much power did the Trueno SR5 in america have? I've been told it's around the 90hp range, but I'm not sure. We used to own one, and my mom literally was forced to drive with her foot to the floor most of the time. :D

The 1994 Toyota Corolla is reffered as the AE102. What now my bishes?

Not to get too wrapped up in automotive-code-speak (I hear it all day long)...

It depends on the bodystyle: A 4-door 1993-97 Corolla is an AE101. It was obviously not bulit in 2001. The wagon has another "code" name. Only the 1984-87 Corolla hatchback is an AE86 (as many of us know), but the notchback (has a trunk lid) is an AE87.

You can see a MODEL number to the right of the bar code. Sorry for the contrast problem in this picture.
