Hey man. So many thanks for this tune. Managed a 3:32.76 with a modified version of this tune (stock gearing). However, there are rumors that there have been changes to the physics since last night's patch. Can you review this tune to confirm that it still functions as intended?
 
I have taken a look at the tune. I would say there have been some changes for sure. For me, riding over kerbs and how TCS works with this tune is a night and day difference from 1.06. I would say the tune got more docile too. There might have been changes to TCS and/or RS tyres. It's possible there was more or different changes to car physics also. I have not seen what other people have experienced yet, so this is just my first impressions of 1.07 without bias or influence from what other people have written. I was able to brake later also. I think, directly or indirectly suspension settings were effected. There might be a whole new level of potential performance to discover in this Audi (and all other tunes also).

Try these alterations if you like.

Result: a tune that comprehensively outperforms all the official entries when driven at the limit.

Less raw while maintaining urgency in corners. Some of the huge mid torque traded for more top rpm horsepower.

A tune to see how good the Ford GT is. This has far superior power to weight, so better acceleration and top speed. As it is now, handling not as good.

Tune loosely based on the Ford GT. This is very difficult to drive fast, but it is possible to achieve a good lap time. Speed comes from driving smooth and accurate.

I have tuned/tested more cars at 450PP. Not all meet the requirements for the last tuning contest although they are 450pp and on comfort soft tires. Here is the fastest tune so far 1:29.xxx. It was not even especially tuned for Bathurst, just a tune lying about in my garage. It was tuned for an online hot lap event.

Only very fast cars will match or beat this time on racing hard tyres.

I started at 600PP with no ballast or engine limiter and made the car slower as the tuning got better to try keep the fastest lap times around 2:01.500. After a while I stopped adding weight as it was making the car much less nice to drive.

The tune is in celebration of the Mclaren win at the Bathurst 12 hour race recently.

To be some what of a replica, tyres had to be slicks, ride height had to be super low, a rear wind was mandatory for looks and horsepower had to be limited (because the GT3 race car is engine limited to allow other competing cars a fighting chance).

It was nice to see a car that is obviously built for high performance win the race rather than a brick with upgraded brakes and engine.

tuned for endurance and online. the original tune was not good online with the added weight for fuel. It could only manage 2:03.8. First fix was higher roll bars, this improved lap times immediately. The tune still needed more ability to steer better so I increased front camber and decreased rear toe. Again, this was immediately better so I tested with lower front camber to be sure of my settings. At some point rear rebound was adjusted, this helps front grip during Coasting and braking.

with The new settings, laps in the 2:02 region are possible and laps are generally faster. It is now easier to drive more Consistent.

I'm also thinking ahead to new Gran Turismo releases on PS4, i'm hoping it will be straight forward to get good quality video footage out of the PS4 and into the forums.

Not a car for beginners, will require the use of opposite lock and brake/throttle modulation.
Shift at 7100RPM.

This 450pp tune is over a whole second faster than any other 450pp tune I have at Bathurst, so I will elaborate a little on the process of tuning this.

A lot testing went into gears and power parts. Right now it has every part to increase RPM, but the car doesnt perform well in the higher RPM's, it's a luxury to be able to have a nice short 5th gear and still be able to reach a good top speed. Isometric Exhaust Manifold was fitted so that peak power is available all the way to the end of the RPM range. This might be slightly harming performance for most of the lap.

I knew right from the start that this would be a bad car for tuning out oversteer, so Increased Rigidity and high values for LSD were used right from the start. I had a preference to not use too much balast too far forward to tune out oversteer. The LSD initial value was the last setting I tweaked and it made the car more controlled and I found a lot of time. It might have been something like 25, and I went to 40 or higher, then dialled it back to 38. So the Initial setting reduces oversteer when coming off the throttle or brake. Toe values were always high as well.

Other settings were not adjusted so much, so there may be more speed to potentially find from the car. But I have been tuning car after car after car at 450pp for Bathurst, so I know I'm fairly close already at aproaching peak performance.

Looking at the data logger, this tune has slightly worse handling but much better straight line performance compared to another very fast tune I have.

Smoothe driving car, power to weight a little low. Peak torque too low in rpm range hurts pp. Should out perform other "modern" Comaro's and Corvettes at this PP with its lower stock torque (inherit's the other high performance elements of similar chev's).

Really a tune that will engage the driver. Watching my lap again, there is lots of part throttle mid corner. A fast lap will need controlled driver input.
