In GT3 there were a save button and if you got out of the championship you couldn't go back and finish it... how is it in GT4? i can't see a save button but there are two ways to quit... "Abandon all.." and "Exit", what happens if i press exit?

You'll exit to the main screen and you will see text in the upper left corner telling you that you are in the middle of a championship series. You can enter your garage and save if you want--it will save automatically if you have autosave on. You'll be limited to what you can actually do (i.e. enter other race areas, change cars). It will ask you if you want to continue the series whenever you try to enter somewhere you can't go.

sounds great! thank you! enjoy your gaming 👍

The only place I could enter was my home, to save game. Couldn't enter my Garage, GT Auto or any other place. :grumpy: :grumpy:

This is definately a plus, so that means I can actully turn off my ps2 instead of leaving it on untill I finish. If only I could say the same for endurance races, but I suppose that would make the "endurance" part meaningless...

LOL I too was confused by that statement - I am sure there wasn't. Anyway you can save in the middle of a series race in GT4 which is good and then continue at some other time.

You could save part way through a championship in GT3. After you finished a race in the series if you saved. When you started the game up it would take you to were you left off.

I used it many times to "cheat" to get the car I wanted when you had the multiple prize car draw at the end of some series.

In GT3 there were two save buttons on the 'between races' screen. One was to save the race replay; the other had a picture of a mem card on it and it allowed you to save the game status and turn off the PS2. When you turned it back on, it would be at a blank results screen from the race you just completed.
