The name says it all. If you make a mistake on a race (like for example: spin out), you can rewind the race, much like the feature used in Grid games or Forza 3 and 4. *NOTE to the moderators: If this is a dupicate thread, just lock it if you can.

No it's like, when you do a mistake, it will just rewind for a few seconds, then you can undo that mistake. Not like restarting the race from the very beginning.

Asking for a rewind while in a race is almost the same as asking for a flying ability for a few seconds.
I understand that it is cool, like in the GRID and GRID 2 (i played both).
But for a feature in GT, which thrives for erasing the line from virtual and real life
is a big NO.

OK, if it seems like any of you don't want it, maybe a moderator can just lock this thread.

It makes no sense to keep this thread if others don't want the suggestion.

why dont you just buy a xbox one and play forza?

Funny thread. :D

While I know what you all mean about GT being a more "serious" game.

But if it's just an option - you haven't got to use it, have you?

But I'd bet there are those among you that would be tempted to use it if you'd just crashed out on the last corner, of the last event, in a multi race series, in which you needed to win to proceed.
Go on, press the rewind button - I won't tell anyone. :mischievous:

However for those who say NO - this suggestion just might help out the the poster of this THREAD. And if it's just an option - you haven't got to use it, have you?

No I will not give in!

I seriously thought about this and....no.
I don't think majority of GT's fanbase may not want this to happen. I know it's fashionable to feature the "rewind", but really I'm pretty sure pros of those games that feature this hardly use it at all. So let's not make PDI spend what little precious resources and time they have crafting a feature many of us may not use at all.

I can see the thought behind this but have to say no.
Making mistakes for me is reality, personally I would like to see the AI make mistakes. If I make a mistake I accept it and race on.

This is absolutely useless and as you can see, every button is practically used up in the game right now. There is barely any room for any new button mappings without it being all awkward.

That's the thing. You'd be tempted, even if you don't want to use it. That's why we don't want it.

I know, this answer comes a bit late.

I don't think all of the people who have played Forza games have been so tempted to use it that they've actually used it. You can even turn it off completely to the extent that it cannot be turned on in a race.
And in FM4 if you turn it off you get 20% bonus credits, if PD does something similar in GT people would be encouraged to turn it off. The same could apply to other driving aids, bonus credits for turning them off.

I think is ironic how some people are OK with unrealistic driving aids such as SRF & driving line, as well as no damage, no fuel/tire wear, and no flags/penalties in offline races, but when somebody suggests an optional rewind feature (which is great for learning tracks in time trial) some people get all jumpy and come up with all these lame arguments about GT being a "simulator" and the "right" way to play the game.
