Is there any limit to the number of tracks the game recognizes/plays? I saved about 100 tracks to my PS3 hard drive in a playlist, after converting them all to 320kbps and a certain volume, testing each one of them to make sure the system plays them perfectly, and set them to play at random in races, but it looks like some of them never do and others play constantly.

Any replies and suggestions are much appreciated. Cheers!

The whole personal BGM thing has been broken since GT5, they've never addressed it for some reason.

I tried to just replace all the game music with my own, it worked for 5 minutes then the GT music came back... so I got frustrated and muted all the music!

I believe the console's playlist max is 510 tracks (though upon reflection, it may have been 210--anyway...), regardless of length (I threw in a whole bunch of AlbumWraps and audiobook AlbumWraps to test that theory :P). I don't know if the game will play an entire playlist, but it stands to reason it will. I just don't have the free time to find out.

I have 610 songs in my music folder. I used to use a playlist (which had a max of 500 songs) because I thought I had to, turns out you don't. I have the folder set to random play and it works just fine. To add new songs I just drop them into the folder, that's it. Of course with so many songs it might take time before I hear a newly added song, but eventually I will.

@TexRex that's good info, i guess there is plenty of room for me then.

@Chrunch Houston same deal here, but only after converting bit-rate and volume so they all play the same way in-game, then finally testing it on the XMB. I do that to make sure it SHOULD be played in GT.

I think i got an idea thou... i'll 'unshuffle' them - play them in a sequence, see if it skips or something.

Post your results here.
I only play online. I only have music in the menu. There is no music when I race-I have to be able to hear when to shift.
I have not converted all of my songs to same bit rate, nor have I equalized the volume. I have a few songs, I can barely hear over the crowd sounds or the engine idling.

I may have some songs that have never played, with 630, I am just not sure.

I have some that are WMA, but most are MP3. They both play.

This is true.

My personal BGM works perfect and I have it on shuffle from ~3,400 tracks or so.
It has been working flawlessly since day one for me.

If you want a truly broken PBGM try playing any of the NHL games from 2010 to 2013. :ouch:

Did you join an online room when this happened?
