I was just wondering if there really is a point to ABS, I guess for me not really since I live in the desert but opinions?

ABS is not only for wet conditions, its Main purpose is to let you turn while braking hard. You can lock up just as easily on a dry road

Hmmm didn't know that but I'm pretty novice at cars, my family is pretty much stupid when it comes to cars

In an emergency situation at high speeds an ill-prepered driver, may go full on the brakes, lock up & cause potentally more damage.
So for such a situation ABS would be helpful.

At low speeds however, ABS significantly increases the braking distance. So while locking up the brakes at a slow speeds will only really wear the tyres quicker without ABS, the braking distance will be shorter.

It has it but I disabled it, is that bad? I'm mean turning it back on is easy I looked but it's off right now

TP said it best. Base your decision on that.

I was just saying your car has it at all. My 'ol truck don't.

Hmmm might turn it back on then although I don't need to use the highway often and the top speed everywhere else is 45MPH so I have plenty of reaction time and I'm always focused so maybe...

Well if you say so the thing is kinda messed up, its a '94 BMW 325i Convertible, the top is ishy now because it doesn't seal I think and it's got some serious interior damage and lots of paint chips for some strange reason but I guess if ABS counts as it all that's cool too

Generally you turn ABS off the same way you turn ABS back on...removing/replacing the fuse. What did you do?

Turn it back on for your own safety.

I don't know about the insurance companies where you live but were I live, you could get in trouble with your insurance company when you have an accident.

I guess that makes sense
