My personal opinion is: If you have a prejudice against ANYTHING, you are dumb.

Lesson 1: If you don't have anything smart and intellegent to say, don't say it.
Lesson 2: If you have nothing to say in an argument, you lost.
Lesson 3: If you lost in an argument, admitt it.

Class dismissed.

Something Smart and Intelligent to say: Front Wheel Drive is dynamically inferior for racing purposes.

Something else Smart and Intelligent to say: The only people who benefit from Front Wheel Drive, are Auto Manufacturers, who save money on the cars, because it is much easier to assemble Engine/Drivetrain and drop them straight down into a car, instead of working them back into place, or assembling them seperately.

I have plenty more to say, don't jump to conclusions that I am just ignorantly prejudiced.

Claiming wrongly that someone has "lost an argument" is even lamer than it sounds.

Well, at least you recognize that Civics aren't Sports Cars...that counts for something, right?

Id rather have a type-r than a stupid camaro

More people benefit from FWD: Consumers. FWD platform is cheaper, easier to maintain than RWD, thus, consumers benefit because of lower price.

Racing purpose? Define racing purpose. As someone showed in this thread, old indy was FWD based, of course that was long time ago, then again, FWD has the potential.

Just because it can't handle power, doesn't mean it can't race. And what you mean by inferior? Really, you cannot compare drive platforms in only one racing format. A FWD drag racer can kick a Protype's butt on the drag strip. Your statement is terribly flawed.

Also, from your POV, you are very self-centered. How can you say people doesn't like FWD? Maybe average people can only handle FWD's predictable nature, maybe some people, other than us, want some thing else from their cars.

"FWD is crappier because I can't race with it!"
This is how you sounded like. :dunce:

Here's something from our own site, GTPlanet:

"But there are hidden advantages here, however. Under acceleration, weight transfers to the rear. But if the driver over-accelerates and spins the front wheels, the loss of acceleration transfers weight back to the front wheels, helping the problem self-correct. In a RWD car, this would make the wheelspin worse, requiring more intervention from the driver in the form of a bigger lift."

"Also, FWD cars can be more drivable through multiple right-left transitions. Where a RWD car may begin to pendulum, with the rear swinging wider and wider, a FWD car’s stability helps out here, allowing the driver to stay on the throttle."

"slippery conditions affect a FWD much less than they do a comparable RWD car. So conditions such as wet tracks, gravel surfaces, or the snow tracks negate much of the advantage RWD enjoys on dry surfaces, and can even shift the balance in favor of FWD."

So basically you're entire argument is based on "Fwd is better for drivers who can't handle a Rwd car."

Fair enough.

I say one should just suck less, but I guess that isn't always an option is it?

I think we car enthusiast are smart and open-minded enough to love all cars (except hybirds maybe). Ok, I take back about saying you are stupid, however, I've demonstrated and explained enough to convince most of the members on this board about the FWD's ability, advantages, and racing potentials.

I really hope you can open your eyes, and see FWD's good side. Of course, I'm giving up on convincing you, as an individual, to recognize FWD.

You are knowledgable, however, if you can just leave your eye on the RWD for a second, maybe you can be less biased.

Uh, Hybrids have incredible potential to rock ass.

Electric Motors can help with torque deficiencies of smaller gas engines.

Did you miss the Lexus LX400h? or the new LS600h they have planned?

Something like an Elise with a well tuned hybrid drivetrain to provide power down low til the engine kicked in would be sweet.

A V-8 with DoD and a hybrid motor set up to get good mileage.

Lots of possibilities.

FWD is cool for getting around town, cool for getting a cheap little car to save gas in.

I will even admit that there are some fun to drive FWD cars, the Mini for example, but the best FWD car, just doesn't compare to other drivetrains favorably...something has to be the worst, and FWD is it.

Glad to see you have broaden your views a little bit... it's a start.

About hybirds, of course I like electrical ASSISTED cars, but not those gas/electricity mixed ones, like the Prius and Insight... Now that's the FWDs I hate.

Generally the same concept...

anyways I think we have gotten WAY off topic in this thread, so I'm gonna stop posting here...

Just seen the pictures at the top of this thread.

:yuck: Oooh yuck :yuck: They've ruined a beautiful car.

I hope they haven't made it FWD, that would really suck...
