Accelerator/gas bar has a red line while shifting gears

In online race replays, the accelerator/gas bar has a red line while shifting gears on my car, yet the other cars don't have this. I'm using paddle shift on my steering wheel. In closer inspection, the other cars only have a blue accelerator bar that dips half way when the gears are shift. Mine never dips but has a breif red line rising during gear shifting. So I was wondering what equipment are the other participants using?
 
Its been a while since I played, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong or too vague. But if memory severs me correctly.
The people that have the blue bar drop are using a/the clutch (G27/TR500 etc... If you use a wheel like the DFGT the red bar acts as a throttle control to help keep your RPM's in sync with the next gear, regardless of if you use the paddle buttons or the synchronized shift knob.
