I've been accused of having a Southern accent here in the States, but I speak so fast sometimes, how could one tell?

As far as accent, I speak quickly usually. I'm good at Spanish and Japanese and I suppose that is because I speak quickly. Why I don't know German when I'm about 1/3 German I don't know. :odd:

What have I done? :irked: I was going to call you MistaX but they removed the local phone box and I don't dare on the house phone :scared: and the mobile bill would be huge.

The number doesn't work :grumpy:

Yah, when my mom saw a phone call to hackensack new jersy she was like "wtf is this? who were you calling in new york for an hour and a hakf?!" "uh...some guy on gtp...."

Anyway, I'm going to have to confirm that MistaX does indeed sound like a stoner. He's pretty demanding too, but i didn't notice too much of the American stereotypical accents of big city types. meh.

I've always wondered, how does the American accent sound to you guys? Really awesome, I'm sure. :D

Fixed. ;)

Seriously though, do you have a propper brummie accent?

I haven't actually believe it or not. I was never brought up in Dudley, which is where the proper accent comes from, I was brought up just outside Brum.

Although I can do the accent if I want to.

[Brummie]But I doe, so I doe botha.[/Brummie]

ALPHA is a Wellingtonian at heart so I bet he backs the Hurricanes more then the Blues but he only lives over the other side of my town so I could go change his mind..
You could never change my mind, Hurricanes for life. Yea, I remember at my rich and poncy private primary and intermediate school, a younger kid used to always say I looked like Cullen. Four years later I'm still failing to see the resemblance.

Funny thing is, I think that I/we don't have accents but I can pick a Kiwi out of a movie quite easily..
Dude, anybody can pick at Temuera Morrison, it's like du'h!

Come to think of it, on The Amazing Race last week I couldn't stop laughing at the South African accent, it's so...um, weird! Anyway, I had a friend from Romania, nobody could imitate it in the slightest way it was so unique!

Fair enough.

It's wierd, my accent will fluctuate from plain english to Londonese. It just happens all of a sudden, it's a bit wierd when I notice it.

Did you hear Jeremy Clarkson's Welsh accent when he presented Have I Got News For You? It just adds to his list of awesome talents.

Missed that one. :(

Were you brought up in London?

PS
What part of Canada are you from? Were your parents french-speaking?
I'm from Alberta. My parents both speak French, but they always used English when I was a kid and still do. I only know a little bit of French.

Interesting thread! According to others, I have a strong Southern accent.
