These things are finally back in production! I'm gonna buy one, and I would like to know beforehand...

What wheels it's compatable with
What pedals
How to get it working with said sets... the 'RS engine' deal confuses me...

Thanks! :dunce:

does anyone have a pics of one?

EDIT: just seen a pic and read some stuff about it. That's one sweet looking shifter! would it work with GT4 or is it like a USB add on for the PC?

Even if you can find one for sell on eBay, it will *not* work on your PS2!

The only current 'alternative' is to purchase a sequential shifter from Frex over in Japan. Yes, it'll cost a bit more then the RS Shifter & will require opening up your current DFP, if you even own one, to get to the appropriate wiring in order to switch out the two shifters, but I can say, as an owner of both the Act Labs Shifter & Frex Shifter+....The Frex shifter is the BETTER of the two and will also work with the PC. 👍

No no no... this is for a PC. My dad and I are working together to build a cockpit that looks like an arcade cabinet, but with a PC inside of course. It should be a fun project, I just want to get a list of what's compatable etc beforehand.

can u get an ebrake any where besides frex and does it connect to your ps2

I don't know of any other 3rd party 'out-of-the-box' ebrake that would work with the PS2 OTHER then the one offered by Frex. However, in this particular forum, there has been at least one other GTP member who was able to take a ordinary MCII Controller (I think that was it?) and make their own ebrake! I think the members name was nurburgring but don't quote me on that! :D

well you need to re-wire the RS shifter or get a USB adaptor to make it plug in.. Otherwise you need a Act-Labs RS wheel..

only the "old school" shifters are like that.
(like the one I have)

Picture

you need the "shifter sleeve" which the shifter and clutch enhanced pedal box plug into. then the "engine" (psx, usb, etc.) plugs into the sleeve.
that was only for the first run of the shifter. the vast majority of the shifters are USB and universal. it works with ANY wheel. As long as your OS and game supports multiple controllers. Becuase when using the RS shifter with a non-RS wheel the shifter acts as a second controler.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. I've been in love with my RS-System and hanging out on their forums for 6 years... so i have plenty of answers.
