I don't use active steering, you feel more in control without it.
I use no driving aids except for ABS which is set to 1.

i can't believe anyone would use it as an aid, I can't see what benefit it gives you.

active steering keeps the wheels pointed in the direction u wana go like steering assist. Imho its just there for beginers or babies that cant handle the wheel.what the hell does the as do , i got a g25 but never noticed ass doing anything when i have it turned on or off

At lower speeds, this technology reduces the amount that the steering wheel must be turned -- improving performance in situations such as parking and other urban area traffic maneuvers. At higher speeds, the performance is such that steering becomes more responsive and provides improved directional stability. "
But not only BMW uses it. I drove a Infinity that had it.
