Jordan, I think you should add different car and transportation fonts to GTP.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-15453.html

Go there, Pupik is transportation font king.

I think it would be cool to have these fonts so that everyone on GTP could see them, and we could use them in our sigs and stuff. Sorta like smilies without the load time. A good thing.

You can use any font you like in vB code, including those, and it will show up, but if and only if the visitor has that font installed. It really just all depends on the user.

I totally know that, that's why I asked to have them incorperated on GTP, so that everyone who comes here sees the font.

Ofcourse I could just use the Vb code, but everyone would be asking me "Why is there a big *insert letter/number hhere* in your sig?"

I thought that it would be good because font takes no time to load, so people could once again have car logos and more in thier sigs.

Yes...but...I have no control over what fonts a user has on there machine, and it would be silly to force visitors to download and install a font just to view a page.

Jordan Jordan! Listen to me!!

I meant having these fonts on the pulldown menu thingy!

That wouldn't require users to DL the fonts. They would be DLed on GTP, not on users' computers.
Sorry if I wasn't clearer before.

He want's the fonts incorporated into GTP's font list - but I don't think that would make any difference. If you look at GTPlanets font list you'll see they are all standard fonts that come installed on a PC.

Those are just names of the most commonly installed fonts in the drop-down box, they are not stored on GTP. It still wouldn't make a difference if the names of any other fonts were listed there - they wouldn't show up on anyone's computer unless they downloaded and installed that specific font.

Not to mention there's probably copyright issues with mass-distributing a font onto someone's computer. Both the owner of the copyright and the font-maker deserve credit each time it's used, possibly a royalty.

It's one thing to download it (I've included the disclaimer/read-me file in each *.zip file) when you wish to download it, but quite another to force it to be downloaded onto any computer.

Whoohoo! I'm the font king!
