Dam, what I have I been missing!? Im lucky enough to own GT4 but im missing out big style!

Ive seen these cockpits on the net:

http://www.gameracer.co.uk/product_info.shtml#Rally

And

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11319&item=8164858389&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Im thinking the first link, the driving force pro package. The other comes with a crap wheel and pedals? And you only get £25 off if you dont want them.

Do you guys know of anyothers, or is anyone willing to build/sell me one. I live in the UK. I would buy one straight away, but ive just bought a PSP value pack with Ridge Racers!

Please advice guys!

i bought one of those gamepods off ebay, but with a reclining recaro.....excellent purchase, a bit pricey but well worth it.

For clarification, if you only want the pedals for GT4/PS2, then just go to their online store here
and from the left menu pane, click on Pedal then click the Add to Cart button under where it says
PRO Pedal Outright...then go checkout and you'll be set!

Once your pedals are due to ship (1-2 months), Frex will email you regarding payment....

(Mind you, I'm basing all this on emails received from Frex and what they have told me directly...mind you though, I'm in the US and they're (Frex) in Japan & English is NOT their first language...;) )

Hope this helps! :-)

That's a quality set up you got there GeeUK, I built a proper table/stand for my wheel, just use a normal chair because i don't have room for a dedicated racing car too.

Yoshi DeHerrera (formerly of TechTV's The Screen Savers before G4 unfortunately fired him) build the greatest damn cockpit ever. The link above shows the chassis, but doesn't go into details on the electronics (and I tried to find the article link with the specs on the horrible G4TechTV site, but...of course...they don't have it archived).

The thing had three LCD displays, an actual racing seat, Denon's best receiver at the time, hooked up to PC speakers (Klipsch, I think), with a huge subwoofer on the side, a transducer under the seat.

A few samples...

The cockpit frame and seat was Yoshi's but all the gear was on the company dime. People can go over to his forums, from the link above, and talk to other modders or Yoshi himself to ask about how to build your own setups.

SimRaceDriver thanks for the info!

What is the difference between the Pro pedal outright and pedal kit. They look the same but one is cheaper than the other?

It will be for a DFP wheel.

SimRaceDriver thanks for the info!

What is the difference between the Pro pedal outright and pedal kit. They look the same but one is cheaper than the other?

It will be for a DFP wheel.

The only real difference is what wheel you'll be using with them with...

The reason for the slight price increase for the Pro Pedal kit has to do, if I'm correct, with the fact that they (Frex) have to replace the "pots" (Potentiometers) for this pedal set, which means they have to take them out of the DFP pedal set & install them to their Pro Pedal kit..where as this would not be needed for the straight up pedal kit.

Therefore, I would recommend forgetting what you see referenced here, as the the most important information regarding their pedals is outlined in their online store
here

NOTE: Now, not to confuse you but if the price for the Frex pedals, which is roughly about $406 in U.S. dollars (Trust me, they will last MUCH longer then the plastic DFP set) is too much for you, then check out the pedals from ECCI as these are a bit cheaper but are still fully compatible with the PS2 as they plug into the same location as current DFP pedal set do...and I know this because I've got an email from ECCI telling me so. :)

However, you would have to find a way to some how anchor/secure them as they are prone to moving aroud ever so slightly during normal use...but they do come HIGHLY recommended by those who have them.

Sorry one more question.

So for the DFP wheel I just need the Pro pedal outright. I won't need the Deluxe Pro Pot or Pro Pot?????

Just the Pro pedal outright and this is plug and play with the DFP.

Thanks so much for your time.

I'll try to build a cockpit with stealpipes and wodden plates with the help of my father. I hope i can motivate him till March 9th^^

Hey guys pretty new here was wondering if I could get your opinion on a cockpit. Should I get an AK Rocker and just a cheap ikea table to mount the wheel on or get a Hyperdrive Cockpit for 150 + 14 dollars shipping to SoCal.

The hyperdrive looks pretty decent to me and doesn't seem like it would pose a problem as far as stability and comfort. It seems like the best bang for your buck. Everything else is a bit much and bit too big.

I guess the Playseat would come next but that is 300 dollars plus 30 dollars shipping to the US? I also don't know if I have the room for that. Although it does look a lot cleaner with a center brace. However, I'm leaning more towards te Hyperdrive.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

I guess you acquire the "stealpipes" free of charge? :-)

:ouch: D'oh, of course i mean Steelpipes, lol!

But yet today i changed my plans. Now i want to build an easy one like the racebase!
It would be nice to read some sizes of height and so on!

Ok... I just bought the Hyperdrive cockpit. I'll let you guys know how it is when I get it on monday. It seems to be the best bang for the buck. I saw reviews of this cockpit but most of the reviews were rather biased based solely on the fact its made in australia.

i wish logeitech would do like that one company that built the mech controlle for Steel Battalion

and make a Complete race cockpit system

With paddle and shift knob(with individual shift slots)
clutch...you know make that gaint leap to make everone else just stop...............but till then ill just us my lil trey table and computer chair and DFP
