I am excited about this, as is my wife. We just bought Endless Ocean for the Wii, which is similar except you are scuba diving to learn about fish. You have to interact with them to learn information about them and then you take that info and help populate the tank at an aquarium.
Along the way the research institute that funds your studies will get diving guide requests, which are basically challenges to find a specific fish.
After playing it for a while I also started getting requests by a journalist to provide him pictures for his articles.
In between all of this it is free roaming and you have to explore to find new species and even some treasure on the sea floor.
Of course the difference between Endless Ocean and Afrika, aside from the obvious location, is that the Wii is only putting out a maximum of 480p.
