After 11 Years, The Original Burnout Paradise Servers for PS3 and XBox 360 Are Closing Down August 1

11 years for in-house servers is actually a pretty impressive timespan. Usually the only time a console game retains its online services that long is if they went through a third party company like Demonware that just never bothers to disable access after the playerbase piddles out. Smackdown vs. RAW 2006 is still playable online due to that, in fact.

End of an era indeed. It was the second game I completed on the PS3, the first game I platinumed, the first game I bought DLC for and the first game where I really embraced the idea of online gaming. I still have friends on my PSN list now who helped me complete all 500 freeburn challenges back in the day. Great memories 👍 Amazed to see the servers kept up this long, but all good things come to an end. Plus, the remaster version is going to be online for a long while I feel :)
