after one week of play, i'll start off with my disappointments..... it seems to be getting a bit disappointed in terms of game play time. but i think it must be B-Spec mode. playing those annoying 10 lap or more are too easy with B-Spec. also another disappointment was that the rally mode and arcade mode is not as good as before. unlocking all 700+ cars in arcade mode is still gonna take alot more time, maybe thats a plus. but still, with GT mode unlocking stuff in arcade mode, i cant see the reason why someone would want to race single player in arcade mode. 2P mode is still enjoyable especially with this many car, but the fact without memory card battle has taken out 50% of the enjoyment.
the random prize car thing in GT3 imo is much better then the single prize car here. that forced us to play the same even again just to see if we can get the car we wanted. now, there is no additional incentive for us to play the same event again other then our own interest.
the new wheel of the day is a very nice addition. i love the idea of using other car's original rim into some of my own cars, like M5 wheels on the 120i is simply beautiful.... but seriously, then GT3 system was much better, cuz once u brought the rims its urs to keep. unlike now, u have to buy a seperate set for each car. if it was like GT3, i dont need to check wheel of the day very often to find a wheel i want. i put alot of the same wheel on different cars.
some minor details were lost in this final version. one thing i notice is that the AMG cars (E55, SL55, SL600, SLR etc) are now "Manual" instead of the torque coverter automatic featured in GT Concept and Prologue. however, they still kept the TC Automatic simulation in the Skyline 350GT8 and the EVO VII GT-A.
so whats so great so far? every single car is different. they all have a unique characteristic. i've spend more time running around in those track days in various different track then actually racing events. and just free driving on nurburgring alot.
B-Spec mode is awesome for those lazy people. but it definatly cut down on the play time of the game. in some close race, watching the AI race for u is really exciting. sometimes they race so close that u really have to watch the whole race and give command to win. also watching your car is really nice. since i drive in First person view, there is no way to enjoy the visual of your own car. B-Spec mode allow that
Photomode is something i havnt got a chance to enjoy. i can see i'll be spending ALOT of time in that mode. but first i really need a compatible USB drive. Probably due to the fact i cant use photomode yet, i'm completing the game alot faster then others.
other then that, i think Arcade mode should be seperated again, add more events. having dupicated event in different level of halls is good. like having FR/FF/AWD/Turbo/Na etc race in all 3 Beginner, Pro and Extreme hall would be nice. putting all manufacturer race in 1 hall would be better and more easily accessed.
