After race screen.. times in red

Sometimes after a race I see certain drivers with their times in red, not a red dot for penalties, but the entire time in red. What and Why? Also, what is the pen I see sometimes before and after a race where the position is? It comes and goes and moves to different drivers.

I'm pretty sure those are the ones that gained a spot (or so) due to the penalty given to the one with a dot. That's one reason anyways, but I'm pretty sure there's more to it than just that.

I believe that happens when they cross the finish line still with a time penalty. The time penalty is added on and they may drop down the finishing order.

There seems to be a change with this last update. previous updates added the two points you noted.

I am curious as well what it means to see the drivers time background is Red. Sometimes, they have a red dot (pen acquired) but not always.

- Red dot is penalty during race served (would like to see pit pass through option).
- Penalty given to the time is when someone just didn't serve penalty, and it is added as a whole seconds at the right of the time driven.
- For white time with red rectangle around it, I suspect that is when someone was deliberately cutting corners, same as when you try to post a lap, but you get invalided lap... for all laps probably (this is what I presume)

If you cut corners.. you get the Penalty time.. and you would then receive the red dot.. I have seen the red background on people without the dot and/or penalty time

If they haven't a red dot, they gained positions.
