Hello forum,

I remember from either GT3 or GT4 that alot of japanese tuners had their own "dealership" with parts and pre-made tuner cars that you could purchase, I wish PD had incorporated this idea into GT5! :indiff: Imagine something like, lets say HKS and Amuse both have their own "parts stores" and "dealerships" and for your car, they both sell "high rpm turbos" but maybe one has more power, but it lags more? You know what I mean? Or maybe Falken and Hankook both have parts stores, and they both sell Racing Softs, but they both grip differently? :dopey: Like maybe one has more off the line traction and one has more grip in the corners? And maybe for a specific car, like an Enzo, the clutch from HKS works best with the flywheel from Amuse? Like different parts, and different combos would have different effects? :dopey:

I think it would be a way to really up the ante on the tuning game in GT5, as well as tuning and racing online requiring more skill. I feel sometimes like "Maxing out your car" is too straightforward and dull. Thoughts?

It wouldn't be limited to Japanese tuners either, even european and american ones like Brabus or mopar would be added?

I love the idea. Only thing is licensing of all the parts. PD would be very busy trying to nail down the never ending aftermarket. Really though, just add the most popular aftermarket parts for the cars would be sufficient. I definitely like the idea of having choices when upgrading your car. Right now its a very simple system and has no draw backs at all which is contrary to what happens sometimes when building up a car.

I would like it to be even more in depth like cylinder heads, camshafts, fuel injector sizes, carb sizes(anyone else notice that some older cars didn't have fuel injection, but you can upgrade the ecu:lol:), ignition, and I could go on and on.

Anyone ever play Motor City Online on the PC? It was from 2001 to 2003 when the servers got shutdown. Don't think people were quite ready to pay to play online yet. Anyways, I bring it up cause if I remember correctly it had a huge aftermarket catalog for every car in the game.

Aftermarket catalog is a good idea, but a licensing nightmare for PD.

I like the idea but i doubt it would happen, on GT5 atleast..It would definately put more fun into the game and make the tuning aspect of the game more realistic

I agree. I've always liked tuning stuff in games and GT is no exception. I just wish there was more parts to tune with.

What the OP said sounds awesome. I'd love that.

Saw this Fiat 500 Mopar at the NY Auto show a while back, would be AWESOME to buy this in a "Mopar" dealership in GT5! haha

Wow, what a licensing nightmare, a lot of games do it. It are just names. They already have the names.

But the brands/'names' of the product manufacturer - as said in the OP, would have different characteristics in the product itself. As it's manufactured and developed by that company alone and not universally (like the parts in GT5 right now).

I think it's a cool idea, but yes, it would be a licensing nightmare.

GT4 did it generically I do believe. I think it would be a great idea, to everything from a little bit better of an upgrade that the standard parts up to a full body kit.

Ya we should have more actual manufacturers items to tune the car.
Instead of 123.
Forza on the other end did a good job on that department. You feel like you are in control of your car. You can even swap out the engine and even transfer from 4WD to FF for example.

Please submit your feedback here and push it forward so maybe at 2012 Oct, we can have Spec 3.0.
