Would also have to disagree in this case as it was running through the router until gt5 got patched then the problems started. Not to mention GT5 has been the only game with this problem.
Next glitch plug in direct and it will be fixed. I also play through my router most of the time, but it will be guaranteed to disconnect at least once and not join at least 3 rooms.
When I get into my more serious fast rooms I always just plugin direct![]()
Just explain the set up you are suggesting to me ... Just so I can test this idea out 100% accurately![]()
Pappa I get exactly the same thing.
I'm wondering if I have too many friends. Ie I added around 50 from here. Most who I never play. I was thinking of trimming it down.
Cone to think off it, I'm sure your one of them.
Well depending on your provider. I have cable internet with a cable modem. Some have dsl with a dsl modem, no you cannot plug your ps3 direct into dsl on the wall, yes you can with cable.
What I am saying is, plugging your ps3 direct into the cable modem will give it an ip of say 24.72.31.156 this is your live public ip. This will allow you to connect to ALL rooms and STOP disconnects period, you will see all the cars in the room and can join 16 player rooms etc, also fixes problems where you cannot hear all players on mic.
With a router, EVEN DMZ OR UPNP OR PORT FORWARDED, no matter what it will always have disconnects, can't joins, can't see all cars in a race, and problems with hearing everyone on mics, or the stupid join this room later message. The problem is signifigantly less if you are in a room of 8 or less. It is still playable, and also seems if you join a room soon (3rd person in say) you will have no problems if 10 others join. It seems to me PD "in-room routing" is jacked up and flawed, by this I mean they are having trouble routing 192.168.1.x when another 192.168.1.x subnet joins because they still have to understand your nat, its the same understanding as subnetting vpn's out basically. I have no problem in other games hosting or playing with my uPNP router, but you want quality gameplay in gt5 pub ip to ps3 is the only way to go. This started really after the updates.
So that's just a fix for cable broadband then isn't it? If you have DSL then you can't help it?
See we where just given a router from Orange, useless livebox lol!
So now it runs out the wall into the router then wireless over to the PS3, so I think it is stuck with a private IP, but usually, when I race online, my PS3 is the only thing connected to the router, so I guess it all seems to work out alright in the end. For me I'm stuck with a router I think![]()
