Ah so the X2011 IS confirmed to have more power.

gt5's physics are perfect for the x2011. that + gt academy = the future of f1

I had the sneaking suspicion it was still influenced by and in collaboration with Mr. Newey and RBR; some of the changes were far too subtle (exhaust outlets, for example).

Given the F1 cars will (preliminarily) be adopting 1.6 litre V6 turbo engines in 2014, and Renault have experience with 1.5 litre turbo V6s from the '80s (which could produce in excess of 1000 bhp in qualifying trim), I personally expect that a working prototype of the 'X' wouldn't be too far off RBR's "roadmap", assuming they plan to continue competing in F1 in the future. I expect the real problem will be driving the damned thing, though...

Would I be expecting far too much to think it would be a great collaborative promotion to have a working X2012 / X2013 / X2014 etc. ready for the release of GT6? :dopey:

I can almost vision the X2012, X2013 and X2014 in my head. If they improved the aerodynamics and replaced certain parts in the design to have more power and performance, the X2012 and newer versions with a small 1.6 or even a 1.3 V6 Turbo designed by either Renault or an exclusive RBR's engine with an hp output 1800 or more with engine tuning and ECU formatting combined with a newer chassis design. 💡

Haha, it would be awesome, but the car couldn't exist in real life (like in the game) because it's undrivable. The g-forces are too high and you would need the reflexes of a Jedi.

Like Yoda said: Let The Force Be With You!!!

This X201x project is something RBR (and probably some other people-teams) are using as a plan for the future of F1. I wouldn't be surprised to see a car similar to the X2010-2011 (just a little less powerful and sans the downforce fan) on track in F1 races within the next decade.

What better way for RBR and F1 to plan for the future then use a company like PD to virtually put a hyper racecar on track.

That's true, it's possible to create or detune an X1 or X2 for the F1 regulations, if the rules stay that is, this car can be created in full specs and still be in competition with the others. Who knows what PD and RBR and other people with the funds can do in a decade or two.

The X1 can't be driven? Tell that to pilots and John Stapp.

As for improvements for the next version, they hit most of the obvious aero things (at least what I saw anyway). At this point, they may just do more optimization iterations (this is how aerodynamics is done, estimate the best configuration "by hand" then have a computer check you so you can try again and/or have the computer work out a better configuration [that's not as simple as it sounds].)

^This.

It's possible the X1 and X2 can exist, but it's gonna take some time and a lot of patience to actually create this type of car, espically if the rules are limited on aerodynamics or power and the biggest problem, use of fan technology in aiding better downforce, but if the people who govern the rules of F1 give an unlimited setting regardless of any penalty given to a car, RBR can give it the full works in creating the X2. But with rules as a problem, then it's who is capable of driving the car. It's possible, but a enduring task.

To say nothing of the fact that it's completely incompatible with 90 percent of the world's tracks...Yeah, it's fast and has made grinding and enduros go by quicker, but from a theoretical design/engineering standpoint, the car elicits a bunch of WTF?s from me...

Rid of the V6 engine, and V8 it but use an aluminum block to keep weight the same, or up the super/turbo charged V6 for 1700hp.

Because you are smarter than Adrian Newey. You really think it's not already Aluminium block? And maybe it's a V6, because a 1500hp TT V6 is the most they can cram into a 550kg car with a huge fan? A V8 would take up more space, and would probably be less efficient. turbochargers also create power without increasing fuel consumption, so if you're going for such large numbers, in a car that's meant to do more than just go in a straight line, turbos are the way to go.
