I am hosting an AI art generation competition.

The theme of this Competition is Le Mans Hypercar/GTP/LMDH.

You must create a single image of a new, original Le Mans Hypercar/GTP/LMDH in any position or location using AI image generation software only.

Rules:
  1. The final date for Submissions is July 14
  2. You can show off as many different designs as you want, but you may only mark one as FINAL ENTRY
  3. The car must be original and not be a blatant 1 to 1 copy of any of the current Hypercars
  4. Using a Real Manufacturer is okay, even if they currently already have a Hypercar
  5. Using a fictional manufacturer is okay
  6. The car must resemble a Le Mans hypercar that looks like it could race in 2025. It should not resemble an older prototype or one from the distant future
  7. The car must be first generated with an AI image generator. You can not create the car with a traditional image manipulation program.
  8. You are allowed to do minimal touchups, coloring, lighting etc with an external image manipulation program like photoshop. But the bulk of the car must be created with an AI image generator program
  9. To participate, you will need an account older then 3 weeks.
  10. To vote, you will need an account older then 3 weeks.
  11. Voting will open July 15 with a new link. You must have already posted in this thread as an artist or observer in order to vote

Today, this is the best I could do. First one looks like a LMP3, there's no sponsors, numbers etc. So I made the second with ChatGPT. Early days

Day 2 Progress

Went with this style of black mirrors because they looked very aerodynamic also like they were almost wings.

Added some rivets on the nose, and plan to add more later. Helps the car look real and functional and not plastic/CGI

Experimented with different roof scoops, was looking for wide and rectangular shaped like the Cadillac, but settled on this design, for now.

I'm kind of happy with how aggressive the nose looks, but I'm sure I'll make changes to it and the headlights later

Team is looking at using a Twin Turbo 3.4L V6

Art is an expression of human consciousness. AI lacks consciousness, intent, and subjective experience.

Art arises from the lived experience, emotions, culture, and inner world of a human being. Even abstract or conceptual art is tied to the artist’s intent, context, or response to the world. AI, by contrast, doesn’t feel, doesn’t suffer, doesn’t hope, it merely mimics patterns based on data it has been trained on. It cannot create from a place of authentic selfhood or personal vision.

An AI-generated painting or poem may look or sound beautiful, but it is not imbued with meaning from a sentient being. It is simulation, not expression. That distinction - between generating content and communicating something from the depths of consciousness, is what separates art from artificial imitation.

And you, a human, expressed yourself with the tool called AI. And I received and understood your expression.

It may not be particularly impressive or thoughtful art, but still.

Photoshop doesn't feel, doesn't suffer, doesn't hope. Pencils don't feel, don't suffer, don't hope. It's just a tool like any other.
