AI - Blue Flag?

I wish there was a way of the system blue flagging the AI when you are about to lap them. I find them far too aggresive when you are 1 lap up on them. Fair enough if they are fighting for position amongst themselves but more often than not you get an attempted block maneouvre pulled on you. I find it most annoying on Monza, particularly when I'm on a hot-lap trying to beat a personal best etc.

Anyone agree?
 
Dunno... They don't move over when you're approaching them, but I've yet to see them try and block me.
In fact, I doubt they ever tried to block me when I'm overtakign them for the first time... They just happen to be in my way, at times :lol:
 
Sometimes they move over only to cut me off at the last second. At the Nurburgring this gets very frustrating.
 
On the Nurburgring special events I find they move over quite readily as long as you pass on the left.

It would definitely be helpful to have some form of this "blue flag" algorithim for when lapping in actual races.
 
After doing the Nurburgring 4h I could swear they are programmed to shut the door at the worst possible moment. :grumpy:
 
Some AI cars to tend to block you. Maybe it's a glitch whereby instead of moving away from you they move in front of you. I've been wiped out a few times when lapping backmarkers and it is very annoying.
 
It's worth a note that the AI do move over. It is, however, poorly implemented.

So long as you're fighting for position with them, they will try their hardest to stay on the racing line. If you're coming up to lap them, they will try their hardest to stay off the racing line, even if that means driving into you because you've chosen to drive around them rather than blast through on the line.

This is why the driving line is useful not as an aid, but as a predictor of where the AI are going to be next. If you're lapping them, try to stay on the line or they will smash into you.
 
I noticed they move to what would be the inside of the next curve no mater how far ahead it is. On the Nurburgring or any track with lots of consecutive turns it becomes a real pain.
 
I noticed this at the Suzuka Endurance ... I got punted off here there and everywhere but I think that was because I was in a Furai which is really light :-P Might have been really windy come to think of it :-P
