I did a search, but I can imagine it would be hard to find a thread on these. I found a couple cars that aren't available to us as Typical Opponents or actual opponents in one of the seasonal events. I really hadn't paid attention to it before (if it isn't online, it isn't really worth it). I'm sure there is a list and an explanation somewhere.

I found these:
  • Nissan SKYLINE GT-R Special Color Midnight Purple III (R34) '00
  • Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi (18inch BBS Wheel Option) '10

Skyline
Subaru

Apparently they are available

Oh, you mean as opponents... Hmm, good find. I wonder if it has anything to do with there 4WD systems?

mmhn thats a good topic, i wish i had some input on it but i havent apyed attention but if you have no awnsers i am sure there is a way of contcting gt and getting an awnser, this truly intrests me

They aren't listed at MyGranTurismo.net, nor in Duck's car catalog, nor in Shane Price's UCD list.

Yes, I can buy an R34 in Midnight Purple III and I can put BBS wheels on the '10 WRX STi, but I find it odd that these cars are listed this way.

The links I posted were a trading thread looking for the Skyline (wrote exactly as it is in the OP) and a video of the Subaru going around the Nurb (again, with it's name wrote exactly the same as in the OP.)
Maybe there is some sort of difference between PAL/NTSC which means they have different names?

I think Vol meant we never seen them on the starting grid when facing the AI on seasonals, which I'm not sure about either. I remember seeing the Skyline MNP III in a B-Spec race.

It might also have something to do with the game version - one of Subaru's colours originally contained the word "Plazma", but has since been changed to "Plasma". The Subaru may have adopted the added bit about it's wheel options just as the '07 has it, but for whatever reason, it doesn't display it with that full title anymore. Or perhaps, only in certain modes - all previous GT's are guilty of slightly changing the name of a car depending on where it is being displayed.

The Nissan, I wouldn't know much about, however (though I was positive I have it in my garage... somewhere!).

Kinda pointless to have the options equipped added to the name of a car, don't you think?

Like, what's wrong with just calling it "Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STI '10"?

i was just looking thru the UCD and found one it isnt listed as the full name but

SKYLINE GT-R M.N.PII(R34) '99 so it is there but just elusive

Because in real life that was the ''name'' of the car maybe? "BBS wheel option'' part of name.

I have both SKYLINES in both midnight purple II and III. Dunno whats going on there

That's what I get for starting a thread and then going to bed. :P

I have the cars with the MNP names. My point is, I've never seen them with the Special Color names. I don't think they are available to us with that name. I think these AI cars are labeled differently. I didn't realize I was the first to stumble on this.

Anyway, at this point, I don't think these two cars listed are any different than we cars that we can get. I just find it odd that they have different names in the AI pool.

The A.I. never use the Ferrari SP1 except in custom track races. Also the A.I. can use the Chrysler Prowler offroad but we can't.

The Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi (18inch BBS Wheel Option) '10 is just called IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi '10 in my New car dealer. is there any difference besides the name?

I suspect not. And I suspect there is no difference between Nissan SKYLINE GT-R Special Color Midnight Purple III (R34) '00 and Nissan SKYLINE GT-R M.N.P III (R34) '00.

I don't think these are new cars, just surprised they are labeled oddly.

They don't. It just depends on where you're looking at them...

Enter your Skyline MNP or Impreza '10 into a race and you'll see the name is listed in the pre-race screens in exactly the same format as the AI's cars.
