I found out a couple days ago that in that in the options menu, you could change the ai characteristics for arcade mode. I'm just wondering, does it do anything.

It basically changes their behaviour from submissive to aggressive and somewhat clumsy. If you enjoy racing the AI, change it incrementally until you feel like you're just getting rammed off track too much.

No, AI behaviour in career mode is fixed I'm afraid.

It definitely makes a difference in Arcade Mode. When I was trying to get the 0.01 trophy, I was running the X2011 at Daytona for 1 lap....with the AI set to easy I could have won by a couple of seconds, with it at the next level I was a couple of seconds behind. Not sure how it affects them with proper races as that is the only time I've run a race in Arcade

I've been racing at Ascari , and when I had the ai characteristics on 0 it was almost like in career mode. But when I put it on 10 it was only a little bit harder. By the way, cars mess up on Ascari.

All the arcade races I've done, I've always just put it on the hardest difficulty. Seems pretty much like the career mode AI to me.
