Why cant we have Ai in mutiplayer races? I dont have 10 freinds who have the game to play against me . It would be great to cater for those that perhaps have 2 or 3 and want to playa full grid with Ai and people they know not strangers ..i dont get it ..this is 2022.. other games have it so its possible to do this so why not in GT7?

I think this is the plan.

I wouldn't mind this if they actually release the new Sophy AI in gt7. Being honest thou with the current state of this game I think Sophy will be released in the next GT game. I could be wrong thou. But Sony want all their games to highly reviewed. Any critics how say something bad about 1 of their games gets blacklisted from receiving review copies of all Sony exclusives.
GT7 got reviewed really badly by most users (Not critics) on meta critic and I believe its the lowest user rated game on meta critic. Rightly so aswell. I don't understand what they were thinking when the game was already getting back lash so they decide to fix the problem by cutting rewards in half? Only an idiot would make such a decision.
But anyway, because the game now looks bad they mite turn around and use Sophy to promote the next GT title and hope that one receives more positive reviews. I have no faith left in Sony. They are becoming another Apple but for gaming.

Just a mention AIs are not real if you can not pass a real rookie driver in front of you in the daily race you do not deserve a A rating .

The OP isn't talking about Sport Mode though, he's talking about a private group of friends in a lobby situation where you can pick any track you feel like, the number of laps, different cars and weather conditions without the restrictions of Sport mode.

He's also right. It's great to be able to just get a couple of my friends together in games like Wreckfest and it would be equally as good to be able to do it in GT7. Sometimes I can't be bothered with racing in Sport mode and this would fill that void nicely.

Edit: More options isn't a bad thing.

You are talking about using AI in real racing how is that not bad. if you want to race with a computer be my guest but leave real racing for real drivers.

How does this affect you in any way is more to the point.

What my friends and I do with our game has no bearing on your elitist attitude and doesn't make us any less real racers. You'd still be able to do Sport mode the same as before, and I can still do that too when I feel like it.

Like I said, ''More options isn't a bad thing.''

Maybe I am wrong but if you are driving with real drivers in a multiplayer lobby how is the AI being fair to all the drivers in that race if the AI is only racing you.

The AI would race everyone in the lobby, not just you. In Wreckfest you can have you and your friends versus as may AI as you wish to populate the lobby with until it's full.

Is wreckfest racing or is it gaming ?

Is this not real enough?

4 against 4, although the AI spends too much time fighting each other

It's a game, just like GT7 is a game. You can race in both though, and it can be either AI or real people. The only difference is in Wreckfest you can race real people and AI at the same time.

Maybe if a multiplayer lobby can not fill a full field of 10 or more drivers maybe real driver do not want to participate in a game of AIs . GT7 has plenty of AI gaming Lets keep real, real.

This is for when people don't want to fill a lobby full of randoms (or trolls) but still want a full lobby... and I am a real driver, but perhaps I don't wish to race in a game against you, for example, but prefer to race my real life friends (and only my real life friends) in a full lobby.

Let keep real, real.
As @Samus mentioned, it's not real, and why you would continually argue against something that has no affect on you is stupid to say the least. Don't like it, don't do it. It's not like anyone is saying to make it mandatory.

I think one of the 1st things we need to do is stop calling GT7 (or ANY racing video game, for that matter) real racing. It's not real. I don't care if you "race" against other real people. You're not actually racing. You're sitting in your home playing a video game. If you crash in the game, it doesn't affect you physically, financially, or emotionally (or at least it shouldn't, anyway). But if you wreck in an a real race, you can get really hurt. And you can spend lots and lots of real money to fix the car and fix yourself.

Real racing? That happens on real tracks with real cars, NOT video games with tracks and cars made of polygons.

Yeah, I know.....I'm a party-pooper. Whatever.

Just concede dude.
Just because you don't want to race with AI in online lobbies, doesn't mean everyone thinks the same way.

The OP asks for an OPTIONAL feature to be added to CUSTOM online lobbies... it wouldn't affect you and your elitist ways if you didn't want it to.

Filling online lobbies with AI is a feature on many other racing games and like the OP said, its 2022, it can be and should be and option in what's supposed to be the best Playstation racing game out.

Personally I really liked the feature on some of the F1 games where you can run online co-op championships with mates and see no reason to why this shouldn't be in every new release racing game. It wouldnt work currently in GT7 because it has no single player content... especially decent length championships but this could be an easily added feature in future update

Real or Not Real in a world of computers. This should be explained by the moderators of this forum, I would like to know is there real people using GT7 simulator servers in competition in sport or multiplayer. If they are real people can it be called a real race between the 10 or more drivers or gamers who participate?

No. It's a game.

In the real world of racing if people show up with a vehicle to participate in a race with other people with vehicles should it be call a Game or Race?

People really need to get out of the sim racing bubble if these are the arguments being made.

That being said, I fail to see the point in having AI fill out the numbers of lobbies. A lot harder to mask AI deficiencies (and considering this is GT, they are legion) then it is, say, to fill out people who leave 4v4 matches in Halo Infinite, considering in the latter, the bots are only there until another player joins a game in progress.

This reminds me of something I strongly desire to make an appearance again. In GT5 prologue there were time trial challenges you had to complete with a specific car on a certain track.
You would also have a limited amount of time to acheive the target time.
The catch was that there was a.i. present on track too. Cars that were quick and some cars that were slow. It basically was a track day and they were absoloutely brilliant!

My favourite was the eiger Norwand time trial challenge. You needed an evo 9 I can't remember the what tires you had to use or the target time I'll have to download it on ps3 again to find out. What I do remember was you were not the faster car on the track there was a z06 a.i. that was present and it would catch you eventualy. I would try to get my target tome bfore it caught me or try to battle it. Meanwhile you had to strategically dodge the slower cars as efficiently as possible to get a clear run for your lap before you caught slower cars again.

The event itself only lasted maybe 12mins? Butwas a blast, becuase of how realistic it felt. not having a track all to yourself, but open even when during a time trial. It was a revolutionary move for the series i thought and It's perhaps one the only event I remember from GT5 prologue.

In short I would love to see this again with an option to turn a.i. on in multiplayer and time trails (or at least mission challenges) whether you are racing or hot lapping with friends.

In GT7 there is about 16% of the game software used for multiplayer simulator racing. let the adults play or race with real people, I think there is plenty game left for gamers.

I hate AI in online lobbies, if a Wreckfest lobby has bots I quit
but I like options, and I don't hate GT7 AI as much as other games
so it could be a cool addition, as long as they can be kicked
