I feel like gran turismo is going to lag themselves behind forza.

I don't think PD will be making any major changes to GT5, haven't they moved on to GT6 development ( seriously). I think they'll make some minor tweaks, but I think they're going to focus on the DLC cash cow to support themselves. I'd like to see them focus on GT5, really work out the problems and give us lots of new monthly content. It seams in this age of Internet access it wouldn't be as important to release new games like this, when they can push out updates. How many copy's have they sold of gt5, 7 million? I'd pay $10 bucks a month for a new track and 5-10 cars. It's not hard to see how this starts adding up. This would support game updates.

I agree I'd be happy to pay $10 a month to keep the game fresh. Remember all the hype when Spa was coming out? They already have the coding in place for their original tracks, there is plenty for them to chose from. An easy fix for them reguarding online play would be to go to designated servers. Gears of War folks heard there followers and switched. That helped make the online play much better

I'd be happy to pay as well. It's worth the money to me for new tracks and cars, even though I haven't found a reason to use my touring cars (that is until OGR!). I seriously hope PD listens to us and gives everybody what they want. Fingers crossed here.

Off subject but I thought i'd let you guys know that i FINALLY updated the STC Season 3 Results. Sorry for the delay but its done now.

I don't care if we ever get anything new, I just want what we have to work. I really doubt we'll see GT6 before the PS4 (or whatever they call it) comes out. I think the PS3 is pretty much maxed out and it's definitely obsolete now. If they screw around as long making GT6 as they did GT5, we won't have to worry for at least 5-6yrs.

Looks like I'll be needing some driving lessons from here on out. Stoopid tire update j/k! My driving style(or lack thereof) is gonna keep me in the pits watching certain other drivers circling Spa laughing all the way.
Best hotlap on full tank 2:21.9, 2:21.7 3/4 tank no draft.

Best hotlap for me was a 2:22.6 on a full tank. I hit mid to low 23's consistent on softs...and high 24's to low 25's on mediums. I cannot hang with the mrs or celicas on the straightaways. They're just too damn fast.

Hey guys,

I've been all over the place lately and very inconsistent when it comes to my leadership behavior. I created a Firestarter thread and since some are not smart enough to figure out that no one will respond unless there is a fire present (the reason I started it, added the word SERVERS and mis-titled it GARBAGE) quite a mess came out of it in the form of distracting PM's.

Then we had the mess here. Although we have seemingly made it through there is still a bad smell floating around.

So...what I'm doing about it is this.
-All STC members will be included in my upcoming FRIDAY NIGHT FIASCO SERIES to be introduced shortly
-All current AIWJT members will be included in the next AIWJT GT SERIES (changes have been made)

I would like to humbly request that we all give each other and my leadership a second chance to make things right. Being on grid minus any one of us because of disagreements or misrepresented opinions would be terrible and honestly something which we all know is not right.

I've had many notices from several drivers explaining that they may not participate in future events. In the same notices there is always a line that sends the same message within each. That the STC/AIWJT group is the best group of guys to hang out with. So we will remain as such, a group of guys that play a video game. The best group.

OGR is here to get us back on track. DJ is waiting in the wings with STC and I have FNFS ready to go on top of that.

So at this point, we are all here, all racing and all moving forward.

So who's All In? I am. And I'm With JT. It's usually his fault. But always fun.

Cheers.

This is just my opinion, and I'm the new guy, so take it or leave it...... You can't please everyone all the time. When things go bad some people will look to point blame at someone else. It's always worked best for me to bring everyone together as a team and work the problem out. If someone doesn't want to work as a team, then maybe that person isn't right to be on that team anyway. The other option is a warning shot to the temple with a large caliber hand gun..... (just kidding)

JT, you do a great job and I'd like to put my name on "the list" for any of your leagues. I realize I'm not a regular, so put me on the reserve list. Some day I'll be a big dog.......

No worries here JT. One of the great things about this bunch is the continued week to week interest. I was in a couple other groups that started strong then fizzled out. Heck now there's reserves here. We could possibly field 2 smaller lobbies. Hmmm.

DJ's contagious enthusiasm and fair principles in STC is what attracted me initially. As a noob, I was thrilled to be able to hang with other racers while picking up pointers from the "oldtimers". We've all gotten better too, remember all the crash highlights! If I was more serious and better, I would look into a more hardcore group or iracing perhaps.

With that in mind, the thread trash gets real old, real fast. It's plainly stated in the OP of most leagues to PM the envolved parties. Hopefully the understanding that it's in the group's best interest will be followed now.

Thanks to all the techies for trying to sort out all the connection crap. This has tried my patience more than anything. I've seriously considered just doing time trials after all the weeklong practice gets wasted by some race issue. Hopefully Spa will run smoother with the lobby measures taken this week.

You're doing fine JT. The league goes as its members do and I've been lucky to have a great group of racers. Not all personalities are going to mesh perfectly so its important for us as members to air things out privately and not litter up the board with non constructive remarks.

Looking forward to tomorrows race. Hopefully I'll get some practice time later today.

Damn. That fools got oversteer and understeer. Better raise the front and back. Ha. I swear he turned his wheel for about 2 seconds before the car actually turned in the first right after the hill. Now that dude can drive. Pre loading brakes with the left foot and all.

I got an open lobby open for practice going on right now. Jump in if you're not busy.

Imagine driving that car for an extended period of time. After 28 laps you'd be worn out. The driver(s) of the 911 probably eat spinage and resemble Popeye.

Keep in mind that the car he's driving is 47yrs old. I imagine any of them from that era were extremely difficult to drive compared to todays cars.

As usual, I've been practicing all week for tonights race. I did my normal thing, run laps and try for best time. I usually start with my "regular' tune on the Celica and then tweak it for the track we are running that week. I started the week running a best time of 1:22.8, it was very consistant and I thought that was about all I could get, plus it was VERY good on tire wear and I was getting a max of 12 laps on RS tires. Then I ran one evening with ncr and he was turning very low 22's with an occaisonal 21. I started playing with settings and managed to get my car to run low 22's easily. Figuring I had the fast setup, I just practiced running the quickest laps I could all week. Last night I decided to test my tire wear one more time before the race. I only managed to get 10 laps out of a set of RS and the laps times were falling off more than I liked. Since I keep my "regular" starting tune on one of my settings sheets, I switched back to that and ran again; It was right back to the consistant 22.8's and would do 12 laps easily with much less drop in lap times.

I think the days of tuning/driving for the fastest possible lap times are over, at least they are if you plan on winning many races. We are forced to actually learn how to race instead of just doing whatever it takes to get around the track the fastest. This has to be a good thing, too many people approached online races like an Aspec race or an offline time trial where you do anything and everything to get around the track the quickest with no regard to tire wear or how it would be done in an actual race/car.

No way I can get 10 laps unless I slow down dramatically. That's great you can achieve that kind of tire wear. Been working on smoother transitions but still.

I watch replays of my practice laps. If I hear tires "squealing" in a corner, I work on that corner in my practice, any time the tires are "squealing", they are wearing too fast and it's generally slower (sometimes you can't hear it in practice, but it is clear on replay). I think the biggest thing that helped me is braking early, I want to get all my braking done in a straight line and be completely off the brakes before I turn in to the corner. I've always driven like that, but it has the danger of the "ram and slam" drivers running into you. There are also some turns that are borderline between which gear to use, downshifting to get the car to turn in and then upshifting right at the apex helps me a LOT with tire wear.

I cant get but 8 laps on softs. Whatever bo has figured out, congrats because I cant manage 12 laps on mediums. I'd love to see what is possible with bo at the reigns of the Arta. Maybe then I could pinpoint where I'm going wrong.

To keep this race a two stopper for me, I have to run mediums for two stints. If I could only go faster by going slower...

This happens with me also. I'm slowing down this race or I'm going to end up on a lap with zero blue up front. I have to go with softs because I'm just too slow on mediums. I'm going with the extra pit strategy. I'll just crash the last lap anyway so what's the use.

I'm gonna run mediums tonight and hope I can stay in contact with the softy guys. Putting the "Stealth Bomber" on cruise control.

I'm gonna govern my car down to 275hp, turn my final gear all the way up so I can hit rev limiter all way through, run sports soft, hopefully I can make it thru without pitting.

That is a good thought. The hammer could just be down and all you have to do is turn. Hmmmmm?

I ran the race twice last night. Once on softs and once on mediums. The softs "fall off" too quick compared to the mediums so I end up with 2:14 my first lap and I'm down to 2:17 on my 6th lap. If I run mediums I can stay around 2:15 consistently. I know I won't win, but I'll have a consistent race (at the back)

I also watched my replays and watched the overhead view to make sure I was staying on line and being smooth as smooth as possible.

PS, don't worry Bo I won't perform any bonzai scares like Daytona. :)

28 + 1 tonight. RR lounge with mics. 6:00pm PST. We exit at 6:30 wait for RR to open a public lobby. Mics. disabled, no damage, no visible damage no penalties. Room set to standard. At Spa after the 500's have finished qualifying please pull onto the race course and stop fully. This has proven to help prevent black screens.
