Hi,

I had a free car slot, and no one to send to, and since the OP says you're interested in tickets, I went ahead and sent you a L23 one.

Sorry for not asking first, but reset was 5 mins away.

Hope you can use it.

Cheers

Sorry for not asking? Yes, damn you for sending me free stuff without my permission. How dare you! :) TY, tickets are always welcome.

:D 👍

I wasn't sure which ticket you could use the most, so I assumed that, since the L23 one wasn't in the "tradeable tickets section", you'd prefer it over the ones that were on it. I just did not have time to ask...

If my assumption is correct, I'll refer to that list again next time I have a free slot.

Cheers

Your powers of deduction were correct. Already added that sucker to the list. As I remember, you were also collecting tickets. Any you still need that I have? I should have a Modern Muscle ticket coming today from gazelle68, which isn't on the list yet.

I already completed the Special Tickets with the Ticket 1000 you sent me (many thanks for that, by the way! ;)), so I'm "only" missing most of the BD Tickets and a L19 (I sent it to Duck and botched the backup, but I'm setting up a trade for it tomorrow).

From your list, I'm missing all of them ('66, '70 and '73) but with '61 pending from ch1potle.

If you want, we can set up some trades for those. If I manage to trade for the L19 tomorrow, I'll be able to send on the 7th, 13th and 14th.

Cheers

OK, you're in on 5/8-5/10 for those 3 tickets.

Deal. Thanks. 👍

I was thinking about sending you the 3 Rally Car Tickets.

If you have other preferences, check my page to see all the options and let me know.

That will work. I'll check your page as you start the birthday tickets and see if I can fill in on the ones you aren't getting. Then we can trade with each other for what we need.

Sounds good. I'll keep an eye on your ticket list too.

And about the paints: Some of the last ones you posted were so messed up that I asked my girlfriend for help in identifying the differences in shades... Problem was we didn't agree on any of them. :D

Maybe you should stick with "visible" differences? 💡

Cheers

I wish I could. But when it comes to stuff like this, once I get my teeth in it, I won't let go. Believe me, I feel your pain. I can only to 5 to 10 paints at a time at this point because there is so much switching and trying to remember "darker, lighter, pinker, redder, bluer, greener." It's a nightmare, but I owe it to Duck to try to help out if I can. The other problem is that we're finding plenty of paints that have different chip colors but paint the same and vice versa. And for those, there is a big enough difference that it should be noted.

This one definitely. You need glasses THAT big to see some of the differences in these chips. I feel like I may go blind before I get all the colors. Given the heritage of the designers of this game, I am sure there is tasteless joke about trying to turn the tables on us, but I never know how far to push the envelope. Thusly, I withdraw from that part of the post and leave it to others to judge best decorum.

:D

Of course, I have good eyes, but also a better screen. I use a Samsung series 7 TV panel: incomparable contrast and colour palette among LCDs. Also, as my catalogue thread followers know, I was working at paint checking in a very slowly way. By the way, I'm finishing Toyota, so next update will follow soon.
Waiting for you paint wishlist update, mate 👍

I understand. I'm pretty OCD about some things too.

Kudos to both of you for your efforts and patience! 👍

Rally Ticket sent. Not sure which one, since the translation is awful, but I'm pretty sure it's the Rally Base Car one.

Cheers

I'll post it once I get on and open it up.

As for the paints, you can't even compare what I am doing with what Duck has done. I am just trying to provide independent corroboration on some of the check paints. Can't hold a candle or an LCD screen to Duck.

I wholeheartedly wish you the best in this endeavor. I'm happy that I deemed my collection "complete" when I did, before the madness set in.

It's still more than what I could manage.

And I've seen some of Duck's work... I'm pretty sure not even PD has such a thorough database on their own game items!

I will point out that one might deem their car collection complete after acquiring all the cars in the game regardless of condition. Some go to the length of every car in 0/0/0 in every available color. OCDs (Obsessive/Compulsive disorders) come in different flavors. I might add that if Duck finds other colors or finds that chips and previews have multiple shades, those colors and shades might be applicable to cars as well (i.e. - a car acquired from a license test in a particular color that has more than one shade might come in the other shade from a Lvl ticket. That would mean that every car that comes in that color really comes in 2 or 3 or however many shades).

It's still more than what I could manage.

You might bee correct. Or at least that they never thought they would have to know what Duck knows because no one would ever track the colors or combinations. And that doesn't even count what he has done on the UCD database in pursuit of the colors.

ch1potle has just fallen out of his chair and started twitching after reading the bolded part... :D

And Duck definitely deserves being added to PD's payroll, for services to the GT community!

This is definitely an all too real possibility. The commonly accepted number of Standard model/color variations at this time stands at 4,278. In all my saves I have many 10s of thousands of 0/0/0 Standards. If we weren't limited to 2000 cars in our garage I might be able to compare them all and see if there are shade variations. I do feel comfortable in saying that if there are identically named/different shade variations that I almost certainly have them, but just cannot in any easy manner discern such.

Kaz is reading this and thinking: "MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE???" :D

What he said basically, should be able to get that 92 ticket to you at next reset mate.👍

So i didn't even put a dent in your confidence? Not even an uneasy moment? A slight twinge? Nothing? :)

I'm pretty sure you got at least an eye twitch and some light itching. The seed has been planted, it's only a matter of time before it takes over.

Kaz's Oppenheimer moment. Interesting.

Indeed. I believe there's a number of things people do in the game that they never considered relevant/interesting/possible. They should take notice of those for the next installment.

They should at least create and release their own game database, so Duck can get some sleep and so you and ch1potle can plan ahead! :D

I am an oak :sly:

I actually read that ala David Byrne, but that's just me.

You may ask yourself, "Did I collect all the cars?"
You may ask yourself, "Did I get them in all colors?"
You may tell yourself, "I did and in 0/0/0 Condition."
You may tell yourself, "My collection is COMPLETE."
But as the days go by and the water holds you down, flowing underground
Just once in a lifetime....you may doubt yourself and the verity of your beliefs.

Ch1p, feel free to read this as Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men. On the record, I tell you that this statement is true and he did blink (a little) even if he doesn't admit it. Off the record, I admit that *I* read "eye twitch" ala Kevin Klein from French Kiss. In my best French accent, "I do not like eem. Ee makes my ahys tweetch." And Meg Ryan's response, "He makes your ass twitch?"

I agree wholeheartedly with your first statement, and the best evidence for some of that is the number of patches this game has had.

As for the third statement, that would be a catastrophe. For guys like ch1p and duck the worst thing you could do is pull back the curtain and show them the Wizard. The thrill is in the chase for them no matter how tedious it may become. Although I am not at that level yet, if you had told me when I started trading back in Sept. 2011 that I would even be this far, I would have called you crazy. I started primarily just to get some cars I really wanted and to help a few guys out that seemed cool and were on a mission. Oh, what long strange road it has been.

Hum, perhaps so, yes. But even if that happened, I'm pretty sure they'd find something else to chase about, anyways. :D

I'm more of a planning type of guy, so the more knowledge I have from the start the better. Lack of it inevitably leads me to a game restart, which was the case with GT5 a year ago. For me, the fun's in the planning and its implementation and adaptation to the unfolding events.

But at least give the men some better item browsing and sorting options! :D

You and I are alike in that way. Although, as I age, I am less like that. I can't tell you the amount of times I restarted Madden/NCAA Football/XXXX Baseball franchises as I learned how to work the system and plan my strategy better. I have a few GT restarts as well. In fact, my second account started that way before I realized its value as a restock resource.

Amen and a bag of chips. For us all.

:banghead: Messed up the smiley between the quotes in my last post. It's there now. Those were some pretty good ones. :D

Same here on the sports games, except it's soccer games for me. And don't get me started on games like Fallout or Oblivion. I had to buy the guides for those in addition to all the info in the online wikias or else I'd go crazy.

Rally Ticket sent. Pretty sure it's the "Rally Car" one.

Cheers

Got the Base Rally Car one already. A first person shooter without a printed walkthrough in hand? Are you insane?! Who lives like that?! I can still remember trying to 100% hit/headshots in the original MOH for PS1. Ahhh, those were the days. :)
