Well, its not the facelifted version.
The facelifted version scares me

This model had 3 facelifts: 1995-98, 1998-2003 and 2003-05.

Why would the facelifted version scare you?

I don't really know.
But one of my theories, is that they wanted to reverse the roles of the 156 and the GTV.
the 156, while inferior to the original, is tolerable.
And making the sporty one, turn into the sophisticated looking one, doesn't usually end well...

To be honest, the only 2003 facelift i like, is the 166 and to be honest, the GTV facelift is more tolerable on the Spider.

Personally, I've always adored the Phase 3 GTV/Spider (916.) Saw a blue GTV 3.2 V6 Phase 3, with beige interior in Denmark this summer, and it looks WAY better in person than it does on pictures! Just wanted to buy it, and keep it for the rest of my life!

Also, the sound it made was breathtaking! A BMW M3 E46 sounds dull in comparison!

BUT, I've always found the phase 1, and phase 2 of the 916 to not look good.

Instead, It's a godess on wheels! Want a dark blue GTV Phase 2 with the 2.0 V6 TB more than my next breath!
